There's been some discussion here recently on where the significant amounts of funding needed for projects like Cinovec to get off the ground could potentially come from.

This report has just been published by the European Initiative for Energy Security (EIES). It sets out clearly what is at stake for Europe's industrial future (as well as geopolitically) and what is needed from big financial institutions and coordination of public-private funding mechanisms to lock in offtake partners and de-risk projects. Good to see a growing recognition of what is needed in Europe for the next stage of funding these major projects:

Great to see Cinovec mentioned here in the report, highlighting EBRD's stake. A couple of things I noted from the report which are in Cinovec's favour:

- Investors prefer projects that cover multiple steps in the value chain (like Cinovec with its agreed processing plant). Since insufficient domestic processing capacity can jeopardize the commercial justification of mining projects in oversupplied markets like lithium, localizing processing and refining helps secure supply for downstream industries

- Importance of access to preferential debt financing (e.g., lower interest rates and extended repayment timelines) from public credit institutions like the EIB and EBRD (already has a stake in Cinovec) as this lowers the overall cost of capital

- Adherence to high environmental and social standards is viewed as essential for reducing reputational and operational risks and attracting long-term financiers and offtakers (steps have been taken at Cinovec to improve this with its proposed covered belt to limit dust)

The report makes a number of key recommendations including that in the next EU budget (2028-2034), the proposed European Competitiveness Fund (ECF) earmarks sufficient funding for projects across the whole CRM supply chain.

@Squealy85 - There is no need to swear or use your usual haranguing/bullying techniques with me. Just because you don't like what's being said.

As I think we've established here, we're all able to give our opinion on this board. With your endless posts saying the same thing EVERY day (yawn!!), we certainly hear plenty of what you've got to say and I don't have a problem with that. But with all your talk of rampers, I wonder why you've taken on what seems to be a full-time job DE-RAMPING this share. It's like the Squealey85 show most days! Maybe because you paid over the odds for EMH stock years ago. Shame you didn't buy in when it was at 6p for months. You could have doubled your money by now!

I suggest you stop making yourself out to be the sole arbiter of truth here. You know as much (or less!) as anyone else. Arguably if anyone is full of it here, it's you. You're the one who said back in March 'Get real. EMH won't be in the (CRMA) announcement because they put in their application late, and they failed to get the DFS finished to show their project is even viable.' Which was proven to be completely made up when THE VERY NEXT DAY the EU announced EMH's designation as a strategic project.

Maybe look closer to home before you call out everyone else. You sad plonker. 🤣

Keep in mind the hard deadline of the EIA by the end of the year. This requires the DFS to be completed to feed into it; it doesn't necessarily mean release to the public so I intend to keep my head while others are losing theirs.

We all agree communication with EMH has often been severely lacking. But when it comes to pivotal moments (eg. the successful application for the EU's CRMA strategic status, EMH have done what was needed). They haven't always communicated about it but they have done it. I'm less worried about them communicating about the DFS by the end of October as long as they meet the end of Dec deadline for the EIA.

Any new buyers who bought this share when it was approx. 6 pence per share (let's remember it was at this price level for quite a long time allowing newcomers a great entry point) could have more than doubled their money today if they sold. That sounds like a good opportunity to me. LTH were also able to average down at that point.

This idea that it's the wrong time (for everyone) to get in on/or sell a share doesn't make any sense. If you bought this when prices were low and then sold today, you've made a decent mark-up. And you stand to potentially make quite a lot more if you hold a bit longer.

We all have different timelines and others like me are happy to wait now for the DFS. I'm inclined to agree with LukasK when he said the DFS is is worth waiting for - even if it isn't delivered until Nov or Dec to tie in with EIA.

Share prices go up some days, down on others. That's the risk you're taking in buying shares and AIM shares most of all. The key is knowing when it makes sense (for you) to deal.

Definite uptick in the share price today and some larger purchases, which is good to see. Let's hope the buyers know something for sure that we're only guessing - that DFS is coming very soon or that perhaps there's a institutional investor about to be announced.

If the DFS is published in October (fingers crossed!), what dates do people think it'll come out?

With the Czech elections results expected imminently, I'm thinking there won't be anything released over the next week. 20-24 Oct seems more likely to me as it means they won't be competing with election coverage.

I actually see this as a positive for Cinovec. All parties have delayed too long with this project. They now need to make a decision on developing this resource. The EU will need a number of large lithium projects to go into development (Cinovec plus others) if it is to meet the projected rising lithium demand.

Other potential projects like this one will force them to commit to realistic pricing structures and get offtakes signed ASAP.

Good to have a confirmation that the EIA submission is still being worked on with end of year deadline AND that the DFS publication will logically have to happen before that. Although irritating that the interviewer didn't press harder on the earlier talk of 'mid-2025' release. These interviews really can be very light touch!

Also, good to hear EBRD potentially looking to invest more. No mention of a capital raise being needed so sounds like they're expecting money to start rolling in soon.

Thanks Simo2468. You're right - a stop loss isn't going to protect you in every situation especially in the case of a big sell-off. There are no guarantees here.

But if you see this as being a potentially lucrative opportunity pre-DFS (for a small proportion of your overall portfolio) but you have concerns about short term fluctuations, a stop loss can provide some security, ie. that your total investment isn't going to disappear. I'm a long-term holder so not massively concerned with price fluctuations and also want to be involved pre-DFS to maximise potential profits and with that I recognise I will need to accept share price fluctuations in the short term.

By the way, this isn't advice or guidance for anyone else. Obviously everyone needs to do their own research and make investing decisions based on their own investing outlook.

Of course if any actual EMH holders are worried about volatility of the share price but want to get in on the action, they can simply use the stop loss function. That way, they've got in early for any pre-DFS share price jumps with the option to sell out (should the share price drop significantly) and that way protect their original investment. Seems like an obvious layer of security.

Thanks Rpks. Very useful updates as always. I wondered if you would share your thoughts on the upcoming Czech elections. Any sense at this stage how they may go and what that might mean for Cinovec and EMH?

I wondered if the high amount of outgoings this quarter indicate that the DFS is in fact finished and has been paid for. Could they be calculating on its imminent release and money coming in that way?

I do wonder if some of the lack of information coming from EMH is an attempt not to stir up more local opposition to the mine. Not sure it's the correct approach from EMH.

But I still think this will get the go-ahead. Too much work gone into it not to IMO.

I imagine the closely interconnected nature of the DFS and EIA means they are continually feeding into one another and they will likely be finished around the same time. Work will be ongoing to find the least impactful solutions for the EIA and that will mean amendments to the DFS.

I know we're all eager to see the release of this. The good thing is that the condition of end Dec for the EIA creates a deadline when both will be done by.

JREWINGJNR it's a good question regarding the share price.

The confirmation of the EU's CRMA's strategic designation project status lifted the SP back up into the 20s before it dropped back albeit to a higher SP than before. From everything I've read, the DFS and EIA are developed alongside each other, with each successive draft of one feeding into the other. Although the submission dates will likely be staggered, I imagine the bulk writing of both will be finished around the same time.

It seems to me from earlier announcements here that investors are just waiting for confirmation that these stages have been reached. I'd imagine once both are released, a share price in the 60-70p range is likely. And who knows, if it came with announcement of the first off-take announcement, it could be much, much higher than this.

Keep in mind the DFS and EIA are coming. Geomet has essentially been guaranteed the 36 million USD Just Transition grant on the acceptance of a positive EIA. The SP can surely only go upwards on the release of both.

These sorts of export bans are only going to become more regular as countries around the world scramble to secure access to critical materials and rare earths. A good sign to see some larger purchases here this morning.
