your said much mostly BS but then thats your job so I will keep my replies short.
'That's precisely my point and I was really only referring to the c.£45m Gov contracts which formed the substantial part of expected 2021 revenues. If it can be made up elsewhere then fair enough (that's a big ask at this juncture, imo) but apart from the 2021 revenue loss, the delay into 2022 or, worse still, the loss of the second or third of challenge studies, throws the clinic slot bookings out of sync with other clients' study planning requirements. If that means we end up with empty beds because clients can't reschedule to suit us then that hits our costs as well.'
There are only a handful of bed at the government paid for facility at the Royal Free and those can only be used for CV 19 studies. If there is a problem filling beds why is ORPH looking for a new facility anyway?
'A late September start to a challenge study is, again imo, unrealistic. The characterisation study is continuing so this SAGE report can only be about results to date. Even if that's sufficient to pass positive judgement on the study so far, the ensuing debate, peer revue, sign off, REC challenge study submission, subsequent debate, approval and ministerial sign off means that based on past performance even a December 2021 start is unlikely.'
Read the report properly and note how the committee have apologised for the lateness as it was due to having to form the committee from scratch they state that will not be an issue next time.
