Just saw your reply, Double.
I researched casino games many years ago.
The house's advantage in roulette, courtesy of the zero, means one needs to take one's winnings (if one has any) and run.
Anyone who has read 'The Gambler ' by Dostoevsky will remember the kibitzer who advised the countess to leave with her winnings as a matter of urgency.
The addition of a double (no pun intended) zero in American roulette gives the house a massive advantage.
It was once possible to win consistently at blackjack (Vingt-et-Un à toi) by counting cards, and then betting heavily whenever a large number of cards with value of ten remained, as I'm sure you have long known.
There was an American who was famous for betting heavily as the last cards from the pack were dealt and who won handsomely, until the 'authorities' figured out how he did it and replaced one pack with four.
I did once read of an old fellow who cashed a social security check at a casino and, in spite of doubling down when there was a risk of going bust and doing all the wrong things, he won a million dollars, after an amazing run of luck, over a large number of visits.
He then ran into the resting lounge and exclaimed: 'I'm a millionaire!'
He was then treated royally by the casino staff, with every courtesy shown to him - and I'm sure some complimentary snacks and drinks - until the day the casino had won back every dime it had lost to the punter.
I am sure there are multiple lessons in this story for those unfortunates, including me, who have been doing everything 'right' and investing in absurdly- undervalued stocks on AIM.
Let's just hope our story ends differently.
