I would have thought it would be an opportunity to tidy things up for yourself as well. 400 pref shares hardly worth keeping. selling them on the market would come at a cost.
If i had them, I would be taking up the offer from Lloyds.

As a Lloyds ordinary shareholder, I would prefer you sold to help the tidying up process that the board are undertaking.
The choice of course is yours, whether you wish to keep a few preference shares earning a bit of income.
Investors in the ordinary stock today would have in their mind, capital gains as well as high forward yields on their investment in the coming years, starting with the next final dividend as a starter.

I think having x,xxx.xxx Lloyds shares in a portfolio of 32 stocks is overweight.

Why would I purchase at 49p when I am still very overweight in Lloyds and last sold some at less than 46p back in April.

No, its a 26p difference, but plenty of people are happy to purchase at 49p today.

I am not on a knife hedge, and I am sure many others are not - Lloyds owes me less than 23p per share.
Those more apprehensive are those worrying about missing out on an upward trend in share price whilst waiting to purchase at 39.5p

You shouldn't take it as truth when you see 'you were telling us' - you need to know yourself that it is an accurate statement before endorsing it ,or by the person making such a statement to reference a post.
'Happy' was not stating 35p, and so has not changed his mind - it is Falk that has changed his mind , as everyone but a newbie would know.

November inflation figures due to be published by the ONS on 15th December.

A clear case of a request if made being granted by the ONS giving the MPC members data on the 14th Dec which helps no one apart from MPC members having an extra 24 hours to think about the data s influenceon them before their interest rate vote.
Not sure though they would need the extra 24 hours.

the 'overstating your case' was a reference to the degree of access that you seemed to have been implying - I knew that this was limited and not way in advance which is why I referred to the jobs data that MPC members were waiting to be published.

at one time in the past the advance request period was 7 days but is now only 24 hours.

when in a previous post I refereed to it 'surprising therefore that the the MPC didn't already know jobs figures' on suggestion that they would already know, such data, that was me saying that they would not know this data way in advance of everyone else.

If the ONS were due to publish data just before that date relevant for the MPC meeting the ONS may decide that if requested, data could be given to the MPC members 24 hours early for deliberation.

What is the benefit to the MPC if they asked permission from the ONS for jobs/inflation figures way in advance of a meeting and just 24 hours before everyone else?. I am pretty certain that they would not make such request. There would have to be a really good reason for the ONS to let them have data 24 hours early, so in practice the facility to request data 24 hours early would rarely be used, and if used on occasions, so what?, what does it matter to anyone?.

you are overstating your case. These have to be approved by the ONS to a limited number of people and for a period of not more than 24 hours before publicly published.
This would only be of benefit to the MPC when stats are due just before a meeting as per December to allow a further 24 hours of time. Of no benefit knowing stats a few weeks before a meeting, 24 hours before anyone else.

Strange then they didn't already know the employment figures before the ONS released them - some MPC members were waiting for the data to be released for further evidence of a need for a rate rise.
