some confusion - prior to getting last letter stating I was getting cash, a letter did state the number of woodside that shareholders would receive.
Just looked - the Woodside shares are now in my account, but at the moment (don't know if permanent) I am only allowed to sell them and not buy.

I am more than happy with the MS purchases of Lloyds at the current levels, as I am with the ongoing purchases at BP and SHELL

The current buyback should increase a shareholders percentage ownership of Lloyds with retained shares by over 5%

Lloyds currently based on the current price is able to make a total return of 10%

The market decides a companies worth on a daily basis.
A buyback is a return to shareholders by way of purchase and cancellation of shares.

My 'no brainer' instead of getting 1.5% on cash with a large sum, I would prefer investing say 40% in a stocks yielding 5% + and keeping the rest as ammo.

The daily average buyback has been decreasing for quite a while and now stands at about 31.4 million. For the foreseeable future (without a big fall in share price), I would consider a 20 million buyback in a day to be big

Lloyds are not currently in need of all the depositors money - others increasing rates is a way of getting customer names on their books.

so you have made an upward revision by a couple of pence - you have simply tracked the price up - the same gap remains

Cable - it appears that some haven't grasped the concept that exchange rates are always fluctuating for many reasons and not just for a reason that they would like it to be for.
Cable currently at a bit over 1.25 - same or higher as periods last Wed/Thurs and indeed this morning

Strange that - all I see is a nearly 6 month graph showing a steady increase from £16 to £24.
There is nothing special about £24 compared with any other round pound number.
