Why have you for the SECOND time twisted what was said?,

I said that the buyback should increase the percentage ownership by 5%.
It WILL increase ownership percentage.
You seem to be blind.
If you were not blind then you would see that I said that the benefit (increase in percentage ownership) is dependent upon the average price that is pid for shares.
You cannot hope to win an argument against facts, so I suggest you stop banging your head on the wall.

Yes a sustainable dividend as opposed to large quick increases that you and others would prefer that then may have to be cut (market doesn't like) . You know it makes sense.

If you had been reading you would know that I have said at least a 100 times, that the market determines the value of Lloyds on a daily basis - good to see that you have now finally digested.
A share buyback WILL increase the percentage ownership of those investors retaining their shares.
Lloyds have a progressive dividend policy - a sustainable dividend is the preference .

I had BHP shares in and out of an ISA so I got Woodside given in and out - just sold my woodside outside the isa at 2021p.
As of yet Woodside are still not available to purchase - if that changes then a purchase in my isa would be contemplated depending on price.

Yes, you are indeed wrong - You can get the number of shares in issue at the end of each month - Lloyds do not hold shares in treasury.

If Lloyds had for example 71.5 Billion shares -

and £ 2Billion was spent purchasing and cancelling shares at an average cost of 50p and thus reducing shares to 67.5 Billion and comparing with the same spend at an average 40p and thus reducing shares 66.5 Billion, it is clear that a shareholder percentage increase in ownership would be greater at the 40p purchase over the 50p purchase.
Basically the lower the purchase price the greater the benefit of the buyback programme.

No you are wrong - the FACT is that a buyback and cancellation increases the
percentage ownership of those shareholders retaining shares.

I am not content with 1.5% or 2% which is why I am 90% invested.

I am 10% cash.

The preference example was for someone who was content with a 1.5% return on cash..
He could get about 2% return based on total amount by investing 40% - reserving 60% in cash.

some providers though may allow the holding of shares directly on the ASX
