Mortgage holders will not feel the effects of higher rates until those with much lower fixed deals in place come to an end. A year ago 5 year fixes were available at under 1% and I imagine 10 year fixes not a great deal more.

what is the trading parameter when we had many days with with very low purchases,(15 for example costing less than £7) when hundreds of thousands/millions were available at the same prices.
There is no logical software written to enable the purchase of just 15 shares on a particular date in the calendar.
This was a decision by MS in the summer period to cut the spending. An algo running throughout the day would have continued to purchase at much higher volumes.

Nothing to do with Lloyds banking group investor relations.

The answer is that the algo was not in operation apart from split seconds, for a period of time.
Just two examples -
23rd May over 28 million bought at 43.97p
24th May less than 370 thousand bought at 43.95p
ZERO logic if algo had been running throughout the day.
After 14 trading days with hardly any bought in the range of 44.74-45.97
proper buying got underway on 18th Aug at 45.68.
ZERO logic if algo had been running throughout the day in the 14 days.

Buyback algo's are quite often written not to purchase ANY if the price is more than 5% above the average market price of the previous 5 days. That was clearly not the case in the periods of very little buying.
On a day like 4th Aug when 15 shares were bought at 44.84p there would have been millions available to buy in the market at near the same price. The same can be said about all the other days of very little buying.
The only sensible logic is that the algo was not in operation.
btw I am not sure that someone in Lloyds banking group investor relations would be in a position to say what MS were doing on a day to day basis regarding their share purchase activities.

that will depend on whether the market fears over recession outweigh the benefit of increased NIM for Lloyds.
The market should already be assuming rate rises to the 3-4% range in the coming months
