A1 knows that a quarterly policy did not get started.
He is putting out figures as if Covid 19 had not happened and therefore no cancellation of a final dividend and quarterly payments made in 2020.
That was not the reality. Even if a final 2019 payment had been made, Covid 19 provisions following would still have meant quarterly payments not being made.

The market determines the value of Lloyds on a daily basis.
I personally am quite content with the current pricing level if £2 Billion + worth of shares can be bought back and cancelled each year giving a good return to shareholders. The forward yield at the current price is also not bad.

In IBB's "mind", when something happens because of something else, immediately that something can be anything from the cuase to the reason of a thing, however tangential the logical relationship is. Presumably another aim of his is to reduce his bank balance since that also happens when you spend money on shares. Or to increase the number of trades you have done that year.

No one gives a seconds thought to what percentage of a FTSE company they own when they buy shares as a retail investor, because the miniscule figures involved are in effect meaningless as regards an investors net worth . All that matterss to retail investors are dividends and the share price.

Save perhaps IBB of course who might treasure the fact that buying another 20,000 shares will increase his ownership of the company by around 0.000026%.''

I invest in companies to take a share ownership which entitles me to returns that may be made to shareholders (owners).

If you do not want ownership then you can continue to invest your money in a savings account.

I would prefer to own 10% of Lloyds than my current ownership even with them making half the current profits.
