There is a progressive dividend policy and billions of shares are being removed from the market, meaning with a maintained market cap the price per share would rise, but the market decides on market value of the business.

Multiply the number of shares by a possible forward 2023 dividend of 2.7p per share then add annual £2 Billion share purchase programme as a percentage of the current market cap.

Returns available to an investor will depend on purchase price and as we know that is determined by the market. I thought you would have known that.

not so relevant with 3I Group being an investment company - they could liquidate and then make completely different investments if they wanted to, The make up of the portfolio will be constantly changing. A 3i Group investment should be an investment based on confidence that they continue making the correct investment choices on behalf of shareholders.
