Since my purchase at under 72p last month - hopefully the start of an upward trend into a triple digit share price.

A 3p dividend return in the last year along with a large increase in price per share

And even better - if an investor (like me) had bought at very low prices when LBG was formed and made sales in the 80's and then made purchases down to a large one at 24p and then sales up to 53p, then they would (like me) be sitting on a very low average price.

I think an investor purchasing only at 89p would be hard to find .

If an investor had purchased £10,000 worth at 89p and another £10,000 worth at 24p, then they would be holding shares at an average of under 38p.

dear oh dear - the CEO of Lloyds banks does not control the value of each share on the market.

This may or may not be a factor in the algo (if in operation) not purchasing shares where it would look at whether the price is above the average of the previous X amount of days.

There has been virtually no buying now for 6 trading days in a row.

Unlike last years stoppage/virtually no buying when they pulled the plug on the algo (including after half year results), the current situation has some logic, with a combination of low volumes and at the same time what has been a speedy increase in price with a slight decrease today.

If there were a reasonable fall in price from here then the logic price wise goes out the window. In that case that would leave an explanation of the algo being pulled due to being close to half year results.

Re SB's

They are a leveraged product - not suitable for those not able to cover margin calls on a downturn.

I make sure that I have the cash available in the account to cover any position, even if it went to zero.

A SB is no different to making a purchase of shares, regarding the change in value from day to day.

I post my SB investments on here - closed at a profit every time.

With what is happening with taxation on shares. I may in the future direct more longer term investments into SB's rather than share purchases.

A SB is an investment in the share price movement - there is no win or lose as in horse racing etc.
