''i do know a chap that had £28000 in HBOS that went down to peanuts''
I bought Halifax which at one point was showing a great gain for me, then I became a HBOS shareholder because of the merger with Halifax and yes the value of my HBOS shares subsequently became peanuts converted into a few more Lloyds banking Group shares on the takeover. Those paper losses in HBOS (smaller investment than Lloyds Tsb) got carried onto my new position with LBG, but despite that I have managed to trade over the years taking in previous highs in 2015 and following years to now have an average price of 13.39p.
A share price of 89.4p I think would be an all time high share price
