You supposedly had secret research that could not be shared with anyone. That of course was complete BS and of no worth. The market when actual facts were revealed subsequently took the price down gradually heading towards £1 . You could have simply come out with what you think Saga is worth without the secret research nonsense.

I think you will find that when posters were talking about the insurance sale had to be announced imminently a number of months ago, I posted without an rns the sale is not taking place.

I last bought at about 82p just over a year ago - hopefully the insurance side can start once more to make some good profits to go along with good profits from the investment in the cruise liners. Sentiment around inflation/base rates/borrowings costs has helped with the Saga valuation in the last couple of weeks.

good to see you back peddling doom - it did wonders when you did the same with Tesco after my purchase of them at about 207p, a little over a year ago . Hopefully the markets that HFEL invest in will now see a recovery.

The UK government took a 43% stake in Lloyds at a cost of over £20 Billion (about 70p per share - subsequently sold into the market at a profit) . Lloyds has since purchased and cancelled 12,379,829,989 shares (about 45%) of those issued shares at a far lower cost than the money raised in the issue.

targets are for CPI - rpi most of the time comes in at 1 or 2% above a cpi figure (and more with very high inflation)

Good. Hopefully a rebound in their sector is now underway, and with my purchase at under £3, I am pleased with the progress so far. Excellent dividend yield at the current price level.

Getting nearer to xmas - market up - base rates may be at or near peak.

End of year/start of year have seen peaks in share price over a few of the last 4 years (not last year - cost of living worries still )

shares are exchanging hands every day at prices acceptable to both parties. Not enough selling or buying pressure at the moment, hence the status quo in share price - excellent for the 2024 share repurchase programme at current low levels.

If I were a new investor I would prefer the 14% total returns that Lloyds currently offer over cash returns.
