The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
An interesting video given that what IOG are doing is close to a replica of Clipper South (lucky to have so many ex-Fairfield folks on board...). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-OqA2IiOCxk
jumpedship - I think it'll be a long term(ish) process re. the share price but considering that FDP approval / FID is pencilled in for August with construction due to start shortly afterwards, this project has the potential to get "real" a lot sooner than some may thing. Acquired a pipeline that will save 100mill Capex - pffff. Market is more interested in oil drills in B.F.Nowhere with 10% CoS. Proved its integrity - pffff. Big deal. I'm putting my money in a social media company in Burma. SURF contractors and Drilling contractors onboard - I think that would move it. FDP - Should move it. Funding package - Should move it... a lot. Depending on the terms. Cutting steel on platforms - I think that would move it. The AIM market has a history of nonsense, people will buy any nonsense with lots of posts on LSE / twitter. See UKOG recently having a 400million MCap. Value will out... I hope! Of course with eyes open that nothing is certain.
Social media / BB's affect small/micro cap companies regardless of which market they're listed on. At the microcap level like this, I don't quite see how the listing affects anything apart from feeding into anecdotal BB tales on how AIM's awful but a main market listing is the resolver of sins. Carillion was FTSE250. ASOS is AIM.
Happyholder - what is it in particular about this not being AIM that you find attractive? Which parts of a standard listing do you think are good versus an AIM listing? Given that there are several 1bill+ MCap companies listed on AIM that seem to do quite well?
I think maybe a slight effect Peakview but mostly down to higher than expected demand and lower flows from Norway. Will be getting into maintainence season soon. What's driven Jan '19 25% increase I've no idea, most likely some long range weather forecast being fed into a trading house supercomputer!
https://www.teletrader.com/natural-gas/index/details/tts-32929103 The full stop in my link was causing trouble!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OD3F7J2PeYU Some big moves in the gas wholesale market today. https://www.teletrader.com/natural-gas/index/details/tts-32929103. No wonder Centrica/BG are raising their prices...
Total class message board, it's like "who can try and sound the smartest to strangers on the internet". dougb - how did you get involved in this shambles? Hopefully nothing to do with the loon from Belhelvie.
How about the Wall Street Journal Rktech? https://www.wsj.com/articles/how-exxon-designed-an-oil-deal-to-skirt-anticorruption-scrutiny-1522338992
Haha blimey Sub-Mariner. One should be more contemplative with it being Good Friday. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y85wj59S94U
Now, I'm pretty sure that the pipeline situation will eventually be resolved (maybe even next week) but the dark side of me would have a chuckle if we get another "extended to end of April, everyone is trying very hard" RNS on Tuesday. No wonder decommissioned pipelines have been brought back into use if this it the saga that accompanies such an event! Around a year since the SPA was signed off. Maybe IOG are suffering the pain this time and the process will be there for others in the future based off of it. .
Need to get a v.bright torch and shine into someone's face whilst asking "where is ze pipeline". Expect an update on Tuesday either way (unless an RNS later today of course..).
Maestro - you keep on saying that Barryroe is 300mmbo of 2P reserves. What is your source?
Hi Jumpedship - definitely a potential target I think. 40BCF if developable via tie-backs would likely have pretty attractive economics (especially through fully own infrastructure!).
GGiTS - are you based in Aberdeen?
The chap Alex McFarlane has an interesting history... ref. previous discussions on potential 3rd party tariff income from the PL/reception systems. https://www.linkedin.com/in/alex-mcfarlane-673323b7/
