I think there is a more natural bullishness among them whereas we have that typical British reserve... it translates to the trading too, I think we seem to want to lock in profit quicker while they are happy to let things fly... there's definitely a pattern too that we seem to buy red days while they wait to buy on green days.... if we can get the rhythm right then it could work in spectacular harmony going forward.

The GM starts at 10am our time I believe. Not sure exactly of the agenda. I know some of Americans think (hope?) the price will go down if it's approved BeCAusE 4% MoAR sHaReS OMG but I'd certainly like to think that confirmation of a massive plan of expansion would have at the very least a steadying effect if not a positive one.

Few of the US crew have a funny habit of posting screen shots of their portfolios and my goodness you can absolutely see when they have jumped in on spikes and followed the herd. I'd not be admitting that to myself let alone broadcasting the fact to thousands haha!

Herdie sounds familiar. I have kind of thrown myself into this a bit the past couple of months in lieu of work (and as it's worth more on paper than all my previous jobs combined so far haha)... I tried to explain what I was doing, the charts, the message boards, here and the US, the social media... lost her after about 2 minutes. Now I just sent her the occasional meme (like the guy on his side in bed thinking about bitcoin while his wife thinks he's having an affair, etc)...

Hopefully one day I'll just tell her I sold some and that we'd better pack for the airport.... :)

Maybe we should write him a book of thanks with some anecdotes in future.

Fwiw I tried explaining the situation to my other half when I told her I was £1,000 up. Sell, she replied. I didn't. Told her again at £2,000. Sell now, she said. I didn't. Told her again at £5,000. I cannot believe you haven't sold yet, you have to sell now, she said. I didn't. I've just stopped telling her since New Year. :)

You are right, you have been pumping it, but in selling out so publicly you have undone any good you might have done, with added interest.

It's not quite as simple as that. They were having an initial round of funding... I believe looking for around £4-8m... we used 75,000 DOT as a roughly £1m buy-in, and reserved the right to maintain that 25% ratio in future (should we want to). Well turns out that there was more interest in Pluto than they'd hoped and so 25% would now be a £5m+ investment... so if we want to maintain that we'll need to give them something worth £5m (very roughly). I reckon a few hoodies, offer up some office space in Stargo, W Texas, when it's built and probably, it won't be popular, dish them out a load more Argo shares.

All complete conjecture. I don't know if we'll even want to stay at 25%....

Invest $50m in infrastructure/machines plus $50m of Bitcoin now, sell it in December, pay for the whole Texas project, pay off the credit and have some left over for a nice Christmas Do?

Just my twopenn’th on the video. I’m 99.999999% sure they will have had a minute or two of small talk prior to hitting record, she’ll have run through the topics she was planning to cover, always finish on the big one, he’ll have said ‘you know i can’t talk about that’ she’ll have smiled and said ‘you know I still have to ask though’ - it’s a little dance I’m very familiar with from real life and it always engenders those kind of knowing in-joke smiles when the moment arrives!

Two years sounds about right... I know some of our rivals have been existing solely on machines at least two years out of date though. Obviously they are less efficient, use more power, need more maintenance etc. We had problems with some of our older rigs last year but they seem to be bumbling along ok now and the new rigs are clearly Uber efficient. Perfect storm with the low difficulty (comparatively) and higher prices.

Very short answer: I don’t know.

I got the impression that Luxor has a programme called switch which seemed to make mining more efficient. They’ve been using it for zcash but are branching into Bitcoin mining this year (with us). They also partner with ePic I believe. One happy little future focused crypto family.
