LONDON, Aug 22 (Reuters) - British manufacturing output dropped over the three months to August by the most in almost three years, according to an industry survey on Tuesday that pointed to a further drop in new orders.

The Confederation of British Industry's (CBI) net balance of output for the three months to August fell to -19 from +3 in July, the lowest reading since September 2020.

The net balance shows the difference between the share of factories reporting rising output against those seeing a fall.

Output dropped in 15 out of 17 manufacturing sub-sectors, with the car industry and mechanical engineering among the worst performers.

BHP Group Ltd on Tuesday said its annual earnings fell sharply, amid lower revenue and inflationary pressures.

In the financial year ended June 30, the Melbourne-based diversified mining group said revenue fell 17% year-on-year to $53.82 billion from $65.10 billion. The decline was mostly due to ‘significantly’ lower prices across iron ore, metallurgical coal, and copper.

In iron ore and copper - BHP’s two largest segments - prices fell 18% and 12% respectively from the prior year.

I did take advantage of averaging down in pandemic my average is 60p now, i get it now with, Lloyds would still have increased due to the buybacks for cancellation..

Can someone explain how this works in works in 2018 I was holding xxx amount of shares and today it's the same number of shares I'm holding just at a lower share price
