Eastern promise for Nuformix?Shares in Nuformix, the Cambridge-based drug company, gave up recent gains yesterday to trade 5 per cent lower and close at 8¼p.

Chatter that Nuformix is close to securing a licensing deal with Kissei Pharmaceutical, one of Japan’s largest drug companies, has sent shares in the minnow higher in recent days.

Nuformix uses co-crystal technology to re-engineer drugs. Market gossip suggests that Kissei is in talks to license Nuformix’s lead fibrosis treatment alongside its unique oral delivery system.

The proprietary delivery mechanism resolves a number of efficacy problems that have plagued Kissei for years, they claim. The partnership could enable Kissei to treat other conditions.

The reports suggest that the deal being discussed involves an upfront milestone payment of £15 million and annual royalty payments worth more than £200 million.

If a deal is struck and structured on those terms, Nuformix would generate revenues well in excess of its current £40 million market value.

Established in 2008, Nuformix set out to identify known drug molecules with the potential to function as innovative therapies for unmet medical needs.

The interest from the Banks is originating from the recent palladium acquisitions namely Stillwater for c. US$2bn by Sibanye in 2017 and NAP for approximately CAD$1bn by Impala Platinum earlier this month. The title of the slides for investors prepared by VTB Capital is as follows:

"The Last Non Consolidated Palladium Play".

The Banks have agreed to work on a success fee basis, so that their motivation is directly linked to a successful completion of an alternative asset transaction superior to those outlined in the announcement of 15 September 2019.

Christian Schaffalitzky, the Chairman of Eurasia commented:

"The board is pleased that major banks such as CITIC and VTB Capital, the largest investment banks in China and Russia respectively, are interested in Eurasia's PGM deposits including the ones in Kola which are much improved in size following the addition of the new 'Flanks' areas (see announcement dated 26 September 2019). Our total resource with the account of areas within the flanks contours is about 15 Moz of PGM (mostly palladium) that we believe puts us in a completely different league of major palladium companies already in production stage."

Palladium’s Positive Demand Outlook
Unlike the other white metal platinum, which as part of catalytic converters for diesel engines, palladium has benefited from a positive demand outlook that analysts expect to persist as governments around the world aim to meet rising environmental conservation goals.

“Increasing environmental scrutiny of vehicle emissions in China and Europe has clearly been constructive for palladium demand,” ING analysts said in a recent note.

Johnson Matthey PLC, a London-based metals trader and one of the world’s largest makers of catalytic converters, calculated that palladium demand exceeded supply for the sixth consecutive year in 2018.

Palladium prices and metals-related ETF maintained their rally through October, reflecting the ongoing optimistic outlook for the future of automobile demand and tighter environmental regulations.

The Aberdeen Standard Physical Palladium Shares ETF (NYSEArca: PALL) increased 5.9% since the start of the month and advanced 39.1% year-to-date as the palladium spot price jumped to $1,744 per ounce.

Those popping in to see what all the fuss is about, well it's just this -

Yesterday, Device Authority, a company in which Tern has a 56% stake, did a webinar with Microsoft during which it emerged that the Microsoft Azure platform can only scale up to the requirements of the IoT by utilising DA's unique and patent protected KeyScaler product.

Oh, and the two companies are working on further exciting (their words) future products.

Thales, Intel, nCipher and Sectigo have already shown they rely on KeyScaler but hey, this is Microsoft.

Before yesterday's webinar some of us suggested that it could spark a rapid and massive re-rate.

Today's a start :).
