Is there such a thing as the 'real share price'?

BP at one time had up to 30 market makers , GGP for example have 4 I believe.

So the 'real share price' is just what any given mm is offering at any given time and your broker will go for the best price at that moment.

After hours trading is reflected in the market upon opening and that becomes 'the real price' for that moment

The settlement for trading is T+2 unless otherwise negotiated with a broker which means shareholders selling today are on the register until close of market on the 12th Dec - check it out with your broker.

Spider : By 'Sale' I'm meaning an existing shareholder who bought in BEFORE today and selling his position today will still get the special dividend on Jan 6.

Buying today will not entitle you to the dividend

Checked with BRH Nomad and he confirmed a sale today ( Ex div day ) means you will still be on the register tomorrow and therefore entitled to the Special Dividend come Jan 6.

Reported yesterday on HL that MRW sales growth is up 13.7% in the last quarter amid a healthy rise for the other leaders.

With a 12 billion spend forecast over Xmas for British supermarkets I should have though a more substantial rise than a piddiling 0.4% today!
