Apologies for not replying to this til now.
I agree with you that holding cash right now is probably quite a smart move. If you have bothered to look at my recent posts on the general chat topic 'Stock Market Direction' you'll see I'm deliberately building up a cash reserve for now so I can take advantage of the bargains in a few months time.
My general view is that the market is in the midst of a down turn that shall become more apparent following the May sell off and the usually-poor-for-AIM summer months. But that will mean that June, July, August, and possibly September will be fantastic hunting ground for value investors like you and I before the market picks up again in the latter few months of the year.
Obviously I'm playing this by ear / there's no rigid plan but, broadly speaking, there it is and so of course I agree that holding cash right now is a smart thing to do, especially in this no-AIM-stock-is-safe environment.
