I’m not entirely sure what’s gone on these last few trading sessions but I’m delighted by the progress made this year and the underlying fundamentals are so strong that I’m confident we’re going to have another fantastic year in 2019, so I’m completely relaxed and actually very excited

I cannot believe that AIM have fined one of the tiny % of companies listed on the exchange that are actually very good and genuinely care about their shareholders!

Especially when the above document shows that they have a range of disciplinary options to choose from, and they went on the harsher end of the scale!

As someone who has just turned 27 years old, and has never had to fill in a tax return before, I'm totally new to all of this, so it's really appreciated.

Dryland - I'm going to do the same thing as you, contacting HMRC to explain in detail the losses I've made previously to offset the "crystallised gains" from Bed & ISA'ing my Bushveld holding.

Thanks for letting me know. Do HMRC provide you with some sort of confirmation that they accepted your previous losses could be offset?

I have no idea how HMRC know about how much you've made in profit really. Surely they can't be relying on everyone to be completely honest?

OK I'm in a pickle because I had to sell and repurchase my holding in order to Bed & ISA it, which means it would crystalise any CGT liability on any gains above the CGT Allowance of £11,700

but in order for me to determine that I need to know how you can offset a loss against a gain within the same tax year.

Does anyone know the answer to that? How do you prove these things to HMRC? I'm clueless

Thanks for explaining the process (with the forms) and how this should not be taxed when it is merely a transfer over of holdings (i.e. I'm not selling anything). That's so useful to know.

Hey Everyone,

My BMN holding is one I built up on a trading account I had with "shareprice.co.uk" and is therefore taxable. I've been meaning to put it in some tax-efficient wrap of some kind for years but don't know how to go about it, and have procrastinated cos it wasn't costing me anything with shareprice to merely hold the shares ...

...but shareprice has been bought up by "Interactive Investor" who have started charging me £25 per quarter from the start of this year, which I think is expensive for someone who is not trading shares.

Having had a call with them, I can leave their platform for free providing that I do so by the end of the month.

So I have about a week or so to find a new home for precious Bushveld holding. Nutmeg I have said I can't roll it the ISA I have with them because they don't hold AIM shares, let alone BMN shares.

Please may you give me some advice?

Interesting point - when news is leaked via non-RNS sources it is only those of us already interested in BMN who hear about it ... but what if that's the intention? because if they officially released the Sojitz news and then it didn't materialise it could have a negative impact. Whereas, when only BMN investors hear of the news, we are generally more forgiving if it doesn't actually materialise.

Otherwise fully agree with your points.

Pdub - What you're saying would suggest more RNSs = more sp rises but I don't think that's strictly true. I genuinely believe that any company's true value will prevail in the end.

And, for BMN to truly unlock its true value, it is much more important is for us to officially go from being a loss-making company to a profitable company.

Once that happens I reckon this will fly. Regardless of the newsflow.

Delighted by today's news. As someone else said, it's no jam tomorrow stuff. It's confirmation of what we've achieved.

Nick, Thank for that comprehensively excellent response. That's covered everything I wanted to know. Also I had not appreciated the significance of us going from a minority to a majority stake in Vametco - thank god we have that so it will actually translate into our results. Because us going from loss-making with no revenue to a revenue and profit-making entity is when the market is truly going to wake up and smell the coffee. This is just the beginning of course.
