Hexam - The Nasdaq is a measure of some 3000+ companies, funds etc. but has a a small representation in terms of overall numerals. It does not have a fair comparison of the US market unlike the Dow which is comprised of just 30 well known blue chip stocks which are well traded each day. Hexam - Nasdaq follows a more international outlook but the DJ index is the power driver for global markets from the American perspective. When it drops so do all other indices most of the time. That's my view from space.

Don't be too sure Taiwan would be that easy to defend when it can be surrounded. The US failed on Ukraine, Afganistan, Iraq, Vietnam, Libya to name a few. In fact fails on foreign policy. Does well on a large aging pile of military hardware.
