I see on the HSBC website(Investdirect) that 887000 shares were bought at around 10-15am.Then shortly afterwards the shares plunged in price. This just does not make sense.Has anyone any possible explanation?
It seems that the consolidation will happen before the special dividend, thereby keeping the share price the same.So is it worth buying more shares for the divi?Have i got this correct?
Will the share consolidation happen after the ex-special dividend so that it won't affect the number of shares you have that qualify. Also how will the consolidation affect the share price?
Will the consolidation mean that we will have less shares for the special dividend and so a smaller payout?Surely no if they promised to pay out 5 billion.
