RE: Time to average down20 Jan 2023 14:28
As I, and others , have alluded to in the past, the fall of the SP is not specific to DT and the SP of all the cybersecurity companies have been hammered to a similar extent. Even Fortinet, a much more established company, has not been immune.
DT is still growing, but, in common with others, not as fast as before, and has plenty of cash., partly because we, the owners, have been paying for their share based compensation by dilution of the shares. But it is yet to show signs of outperforming the opposition.
What I was hoping when I initially invested at IPO (or close to IPO)) was that DT’s technology was superior to that of the opposition, and that this would be recognised by the customers and the market. Unfortunately there is no sign yet that this is the case as DT is not outperforming the opposition on revenue growth. Holding its own, perhaps, but not outperforming.
Unfortunately the best technology does not always win. Betamax, Sony’s video tape, was the best in the market by far, bur VHS took them to the cleaners in the 80s because they had a superior marketing strategy.
Come on DT, you can do it - but will you is the lingering question.
