emblaze1 i know how you feel as been there many times in the past. When I start to lose I decrease my stakes or walk away and take a break, but it ain't easy to do and I too forgot my discipline the other day and piled on to Harry's last tip as he usually saves the day if i'm having a bad one and it lost. Too many winners under 3/1 does not make it viable as bank size grows substantially to fund it. SDS is having a cracking start so far. Last season he was getting 30 winners a month but because he was top jockey some nags' odds were artificially shortened without justification simply because he was the jockey. Despite all his winners one would have lost overall to a level stake, hence recovery of losing bets strategy introduced. philipkeets. I have 2 bets on Leicester one can be cashed in which is outright winner that's a £20 bet at 9/1 and an each way bet that cannot be cashed in which is looking very good at the moment. On the former I cashed in the £20 stake a little while ago for a free bet going forward when spurs looked like they might nick it, have you seen their goal difference? At present the straight win is offering £116.52 cash out making a total win of £136.52 compared to £162.80 if I stay the course or the £180 if I hadn't cashed in the stake. A client of mine who lives near Leicester knows someone who had a £25 bet when the odds were 5000/1 !!!! They are doing a Chelsea and grinding out 1-0 wins now as winning is all that matters now. 4 more wins and they can't be beaten but I remember Liverpool the year before last I think had 6 games to go and blew it. kinigelk I'm looking at 16/1 20/1 and 33/1 too . not formed any opinion yet. I looked at 8/1 and 10/1 and 12/1 where there are many more winners but conversely too many losers too which does not make them worth it because the bank required was too high. 14 is also an anniversary date for me and my wife. With SDS I had to tweek the betting and did not include rides where odds were less than 3/1 in the recovery stakes just straight forward normal win bets and excluded all 20/1 and over odds which I did EW as he didn't have any winners at odds greater than 16/1 except the fluke win over GOLDEN HORN on African Queen where I had £1 ew at 100/1. I had Harry to thank for that as I wasn't going to do any bets at all on him at york because he never wins there. Had a rule 4 deduction so only got £106 I think. I DID some statistics on the national going back 68 years will locate it and post it.gl.

Good evening Knigelk.For the 14/1 strategy only I just do horses that are 14/1 not any other horse e g throughout the entire cards at the three courses at Doncaster, Ascot and Carlisle today there were only 7 horses that started a race with an sp of 14/1. There was one winner in the 15.30 at Doncaster which also recovered all my previous losing wagers on 14/1 bets. The cycle then began again and I am presently sitting on 2 losing 14/1 bets which will need to be recovered from the next winning 14/1 bet. I don't use it everyday as it requires one to be at the computer all the time. I may have to introduce a stop loss at some point as I had to do with SDS last season when he went over 30 rides without a winner. here is my template for a losing streak of up to 50 consecutive losers. Some of the winners I call after the race will invariably be any horse with the name Harry in it, not all of them as I do not spot them all but do post many of them before hand as I know Knigelk and Acker also do them and they also draw attention to any horse with Harry in the name . I cannot post the 14/1 winners prior to the race as there is no time to do so but the board know that recently I back all horses with an SP OF 14/1. The board also know that I back ALL SDS's rides so no need to post them prior to the race. I was fortunate to back SDS's sole ride today at 25/1 yesterday as per winning bet slip posted for ease of typing compared to the sp of 10/1 today.He had other rides today but they all became nr. As for following me that's your choice but I would not recommend it. Most of MY selections are fun named based which is a bit of a hit or miss although a lot of them do come in at very good prices, any horse with the following, names of my family, friends, acquaintances, pets. Chelsea players etc etc horses with Oscar, Rebel, Indian, Daisy, Sylvester in them and of course our beloved inside info fellow ole Harry boy to name but a few. Better to follow Harry or SDS as they usually come to my rescue and save the day. Please note my recouping of all past losses staking policy only relates to SDS rides and I have now extended it to cover Harry's tips and the 14/1s. The latter is tweeked when there is more than one 14/1 in a race as it cannot be applied in those cases. If you are seriously interested in it and not just having a go at me I can post an example of how it works. How much one bets really depends on how much money one has to lose which if lost will not affect one's wealth or standard of living.£20 ew on a 9/1 for the likes of Lord Sugar , John Terry, Michael Owen, the late Harry Selfridge the latter 3 well known gamblers would be like pocket money. I used to bet £10 win only even on nags up to the teens but that was when I was not betting that often. The more bets I place the stakes come down and I am doing more ew's on odds over 10/1 because I set a limit for each week/month that I am comfortable to lose. Some lads on here place heavy bets but not that often. One chap I recall put £4OO EW on one of your tips which won at a good price. When I remarked it was a heavy bet his reply was he probably would not bet again for some time. Each to their own. I have recently changed my betting pattern and am now placing less money on hot favourites or not backing them at all because of risk/reward ratios and placing more on the longer priced nags or doing what you appear to be doing of late combining them in win only doubles.

Will back test it to see if he is suitable for my recovery of all past losing bets staking policy which does not entail doubling up previously discussed on this board and to be avoided at all costs. My backing all 14/1's is proving to be a winner for me so far as it only requires a 7% success rate to break even. It seems to be a magical number. The only trouble is it is time intensive especially if there are too many meetings and one has to wait just before the off as prices can change. There are days of course when there is no 14/1 winner. Cannot recommend it as do not have enough statistics and have not kept a 100% record but am ahead on the days I have used it. not a fortune but ahead especially using full recovery of all past losing bets staking plan which at this big odds keeps the stakes down. Yesterday was a winning day came good with Durham Gold in the17.10 at Kelso. 1 WINNING bet out of 10 but with full recovery 14 pts ahead instead of 5 with a level stake GLA

As it is more or less pure gambling involving some skill but reliant on too many other factors not to be recommended to make money although some professional gamblers do manage to make a living. off topic I see you are invested in WSG. Don't know anything about the fundas as I mainly rely on price but I do check them before making an investment decision. I noticed you have bought and topped up at various prices on the way south. In future try this as an alternative to averaging down. The latter entails investing even more money in what could turn out to be a pup. The alternative restricts the investment to the original amount invested. Does not always work but using the T line can improve the success rate and of course the pup does have to recover unlike MTV for example. Suggested alternative to averaging down. Please millsm don't post inaccurate info. I have never advised investors to sell into losses. What I have said is MINIMISE your losses. BIG DIFFERENCE Which is better? An investment of £1k @ say 4.25p in this share purchased 23,529 shares. sold at a loss of £200 when price retreated to 3.4p leaving £800 to invest again at the price now at 10.43 of 2.30p. One now has 34,782 shares. More shares than the 23,529 one had when one first decided to invest £1k. IF/WHEN price retraces to 4.25p the shares will now be worth £1,478 and showing a profit of £478. If one had bought and held all the time one would still have £1k worth of shares. Tell me which is more sensible. Do the maths. If the share continues to bomb repeat the process. At least one will never lose more than the original investment decision of £1k. Averaging down means putting more than the original £1k into the share thus increasing the amount one could potentially lose, if it turns out to be a pup. Buy and hold is for mugs imo.Go with the market, cut your losses short.

thomas22 Well for starters if that was a lot down for you then maybe those stakes are too high. Secondly the first lot were only horses that betfair informed me that I had backed before that had won for me not tips. This is what I said about them in an earlier post. For what they are worth my previous winners as advised by Bet Fair that are running today. From recent experience maybe best avoided but then I wouldn't have backed UNOWHATIMEANHARRY at 12/1 on his last outing.Happy Easter and GLA Thirdly another earlier post about my selections. Why you chose to follow me AND use £10 bets is beyond belief. 'Will have to cut out my selections though. Don't want to give it all back to the bookies!!
