In May 2018, the Group entered into an exclusivity agreement with a major international oil company for a total period of four months, and for which we were remunerated a total of $1 million. Exclusive discussions were not continued beyond the agreement's expiry in August 2018, but we were greatly encouraged by the interest of a major international oil company, and in particular their willingness to pay for exclusivity. In our view this amounted to independent validation of both the technical merits of our project and its attractiveness to global industry participants.

LEFKOSIA
Today 16:44 Good afternoon FDtoday. I rarely buy shares these days preferring to spread bet instead because of the leverage. Only buy shares if one cannot spread bet them e g DIS , CNEL.
Liam7124. With respect you probably failed miserably because you didn't know what you were doing.
As I said to jiddy123 and other LTH, there is no reason to be scared to cash in paper profit because one has the luxury of topping up any shortfall in repurchasing at a lower price with a spread bet. Used wisely spread bets are no more risky than buying the shares without having to put up so much money initially.
Good luck investing
As for jiddy123 I am not taunting you or any of the other LTH who hold no matter what, just offering a very useful tool to consider next time price rushes too far ahead of the game. Talk about looking a gift horse in the face and you say I'm nasty!! Something very wrong with your reasoning processes
jiddy123 I don't care who is on my side and who isn't. It's not about that. It's about making and keeping profit and minimising losses. How one does that is up to each individual. If something works for you SWELL. Don't change.
I asked this of you before but as far as I am aware you never replied. If you had a tool to assist you with locking in paper profit when price reached 3.5 to 4.35 and get you back in at 2p would you have left £100k on the table?
good afternoon moneyhawkk
your posts contains so many errors due to misunderstanding.
your link to explain tthe dangers and rrisks of shorting relates to naked shorts only whivch can be dangerous if one does not know what one is doing sso stop scaremongering. theeyy say a little knowledge can be a dangerous thing.
what i am banging on about is a hedge.
of your other post
the only accuracy was yes i lost money when dry wwell DW dropped an unexpected rns stinker and my money management under new euroclot margin rrules was awry. once bitten twice shy. that won’t happen again.
if i had known about spreadedx whichbrommy inadvertently drew my attention to, many thanks again brommy, no problem i would have shorted such a large position as a hedge. its called a straddle for the uninitiated.
Straddle
Description
In finance, a straddle strategy refers to two transactions that share the same security, with positions that offset one another. One holds long risk, the other short. Wikipedia
Wikipedia gives an explanation in relation to options which is for the usa as spread betting is illegal there but notvin good ole blighty.
i use it on eur/usd once a month at nfp time. big moves 20 to 30 pips in both directions sometimes if one is lucky 50pips. within as little as 30 mins the knee jerk reaction comes back to base sometimes longer maybe 2 to 4 hrs and if unlucky could be a day or 2. used to bet £100 a pip under old margin rules. very nice to make £2k or £3k in 30 mins sometimes double that if one rode the ride back to base. cant do that anymore due to nanny state euroclots need margin deposits of £78k now so restrictee to £10 a pip bets.
come on Boris ssock it to baarnier and get rid of the sshaackles of brussssels and make great britaain great agaain
the big difference between spreadex and ig is the f8rmer allows straddles in aim sharees ig does not.
both do not allow naakert4d shorts in aim ssharees wwhich i agree would be highly dangerous.
all investing in shares is a gamble
a spread bet is no digffrent to buying the aactual shagres
eg decision made to invest £5k in 88e
choices buy sshaares or spread bet
£5k invested buying shares at 1p = cash outflow £5k plus dealing ccosts risk if share goes belly up lose £5k if long aand sstrrong to the end
spread beet of £5k apip when price is 1p. risk if share goes belly up lose £5k if long aand sstrrong to the end
hhoweveer no dealing costs wwith spread betss its in the spread and initial ouutlaay oon 88e only £1156 margin deposit on igg not £5k.
yes one can losse more than tthe margin deposit . £5k in fact if long aand sstrrong to the end
but in each case what iddiiot would hold on to the bitter end?
good mmorning AAInvester,
i ‘m really at aloss as towhy you posted that scenario/question and recommended by 8 the last time i looked fto bboot.
now i’m cognisant that sadly there are many on this bb who haven’t got a clue about the professional approach to investing but with respect were you having a laugh:?
if jidddy had hedged his position when price reached 4p by taking out aa short he would have been in a win win situation even if price raced on to 20p
why you may ask.
tto keep things simplistic
lets say his buy price was 1p , I knnnow he claims he bought sub 1p
aat 4p they were worth £200k he claims
aat 20p they would bee worth £1m
remember he hasn’t sold them
the short for all his shares not just 5% MILOH would be in loss £800k so net profit still £200k
IF
he had not closed the short
but that would be crass stupidity wouldn’t it so why post a banal question/ scenario?
no share would 5 bag overnight plenty off time to close thee short to cut the £800k loss short
sure some of thee £1m would be lost because of the short but not aas much as £800kk
well the reality was different
price pluummeeted from 4p tto ssub 1p making that sshort worth £150k plus he still has his shares butt now wworrth £50k but together wworth £200k
cash in tthee short aandd cwait ffor price to rrise aagain.
Dealing costs and spreads ignored for rough caalcs bu t would eat into overall profits= cost of thee hedge.
hedging ones investment with a sshorrt is common practice sadly not available on most AIM shares but a A VERY POWERFUL tool to have in uncertain situations
good or bad rns expectee d – we know what wwe don’t know to quot brokmmy
as for your old chestnut remark .’hindsight’ it is well documented that i was warning jiddy back in march 2016 to CONSIDER cashing in all or part of his paper profit.

load of bullmerde.
what i'm saying, imo, is that the long term holding of AIM shares is crass stupidity. take the money and run
there is a suptle difference.
one does not tell a child they are bad, rather its their behaviour is bad. dof you understand the difference?.

what a difference 1 year and 8 months make
88e 0.995p then 0.95p today . so much for lth of this share.
as for eur/usd usd no longer able to have multiple trades open anymore due to nannystate euroclots (feel free to swap the l and o with a u and n) as the 7 opeen postions then now require a margin deposit of £13K instead of £ 2k
as for price action those 7 shorts in profit £8173 then would be worth £28135 at fridayss closing price off 11107 IF i had held them which i didn't.
an argument in fsavvour of lth?
well no
pricee reecovered and by jan 18 it stood at 12500 = £8k profit evaaaporateed into thin ait and if held wouldd be £32k in loss.
point to be made?
lth is dead ass tthee dodo. imo

good afternoong bridgedog,
the big drop was in march not may from 1.4 to 0.70p
no one could see that coming
not you, not me, not brommy, not jiddy not anyone.
that is the nature of AIM
You are entitled to your view on the t line
it would however have more substance if you could back up your opinion with an articulated reasoning why it is bullmerde.
6 month chart below confirms when big drop occurred and shows close above t line in aprril and may were poteential buy s at 0.85p
as for jiddy the 3, Ecuagold, rfarfa and Miner4 maybe ' hardly known for their warmth and affection' to you but their posts received 16, 17 recommendations so they are not aloneee.
ib seem to ruffle a few feathers and am not liked by some but i try not to be rude and abusive , just state a few home truths.
and dare to challenge the 'long and strong' 'keepa da faith' brigade
and dare to question why brommy, who is well respected, posts details of volumes traded when volume has nothing to do with price action in shares and confirms it with his post on the 9th july when no rns and urine poor volume tradeed but prrice riose 2.5% and says its 'amazzing' !

Iibraview you obviously have not gleaned much information when browsing using your other account name, if your had have done you would have realised that posters miss spelling on a regular basis, can be due to a serious medical condition.
As for jiddy123 thank god! Let's hope he keeps his word, and we don't find out until Christmas. As for him taking the +iss by miss spelling, miss spelt "BANKER is a complimentary expression, and he should climb back under the stone he crawled from under this morning. He is fully aware of the gentlemens medical condition. Therefore in my book he's a disgrace to the human race!
