Tildo- disagree with your comment. This is exactly the RNS SD needed to release in the situation that now exists given we have passed the mid February date for the 5%.

He also re-affirmed that MRE2 is not included within NCM's announcement last night so we can expect more news on this when it is ready to be released. We can expect some further outlining of timescales in the presentation this evening.

pawlo - that was the Uncrossing Trade. An uncrossing trade is where buyers on the bid and sellers on the ask match together in a single trade at the end of an auction period.

Key words are "match together" ie buyers and sellers

Nice reality check Bamps. Just got to be patient while the teams at Newcrest and Greatland thrash out the 5% FMV. It cannot be straightforward for respective teams in Melbourne and Perth to come to an agreement in a timely fashion when there is so much physical separation. Still it's good to hear SD say they were now moving from quarterly to monthly meetings. If the FMV is not announced tonight I would expect an RNS in the morning saying negotiations were continuing in a positive fashion with the agreement of both parties.

As for the MRE2, I'm sure GGP have as much information as they need to work out their own assessment of MRE2 and hence can be fairly robust when negotiating the 5%. Things could get protracted just a little longer than we think but that could be for the benefit of GGP. Greatland are not the pushovers they were once having invested in a great team. SD said that if he had been negotiating the JV he would not have allowed for a further 5% in the deal. One smart cookie we are lucky to have - all imo of course.

Bellers - good plan, I like your style and enthusiasm. I hope it works out for you and all holders.

Dip - agreed $200m would be a great result. I am thinking it will be a bit less and not expecting MRE2 at the same time. Simply too much much work needed on both sides for working out the 5% without deflecting resources at Newcrest for the MRE update. If NCM were going to release MRE2 I think this would have come already. As it is 15 months between MRE's when they are fast-tracking the drilling seems a little slow. That's always going to be the case with these JVs when Newcrest call the pace of work.

It would be good to know that the Joint Venture Committee has continued to meet since the 5% option discussions were triggered which would re-assure us that GGP has the same information as Newcrest for working out the offer. Difficult to say but there should be enough data on the table already to work out each other's likely position one would hope.

As a reminder the Joint Venture Management Committee consists of a maximum of five representatives. As at establishment, Newcrest is entitled to appoint three representatives and Greatland is entitled to appoint two representatives to the Management Committee.

SD preparing for both scenarios on the 5% negotiations. Newcrest are desperate to get their hands on the extra 5% now, rather than wait until the December deadline, as they know it's only going to grow. SD is in a strong negotiating position particularly as the banks are showing a lot of interest which will ensure we are fully funded.

Doubt it. This is the date of the Newcrest half yearly results which is traditionally accompanied by a SB presentation anyway.

They have 2 places on the JV committee so GGP will be in a good position particularly with their new enhanced personnel, at least one with NCM background.

Hi Bamps - some time ago you worked out the volume of ore was likely to be around 900m tons. Will you be re-calculating after these results - the only question must be how far over 1 billion tons is Havieron now?

Bamps - when you look at Fig 16 on page 37 the crescent zone looks even smaller than a fraction of a fraction - just a thin purple slither.

SAS - I have been posting similarly as I have had it confirmed from the horse's mouth so to speak that the "future potential" of Hav will be taken into account in GGP's valuation. Whether that's accepted by NCM we do not know of course. But they have done enough drilling now to come up with a few million more ounces than that contained in the MRE - which was only based on drilling to October 2020. NCM could easily have given MRE2 based on what they know but we can assume GGP are all over it anyway in terms of size. I know Bamps worked out the volume of the ovoid from known dimensions and believed we are talking about 900mt of ore. This is known information but not yet translated into new ounces. Brokers have also put in their thoughts of course and 4.2m oz equivalent is ancient history.
