RE: Option agreement to sell Greatland Gold Tasmanian tenements30 Nov 2022 08:57
Nice bit of business by the Greatland team. These tenements are not duds but GGP have flagged up for some time that they wanted to concentrate on their WA assets. This is expected to give GGP a good income stream well into the future - they know what's there so well done GGP.
FIRETOWER
The Firetower project is located in central north Tasmania and covers an area of 62 square kilometres with established nearby infrastructure. The project lies in the eastern parts of the highly mineralised Mt Read volcanic rocks which host major polymetallic (zinc, lead, gold) deposits such as Hellyer and Roseberry, and copper deposits such as Mt Lyell, and the Henty Gold Mine which has produced over 1.25m oz since 1996.
The project consists of the Firetower, Firetower West and Firetower East prospects:
Firetower prospect: significant gold mineralisation from surface up to 30g/t.
Firetower West: a mineralised system with copper up to 1.34% and silver up to 2.6g/t.
Firetower East: potential for a VHMS system with initial drilling intersecting zinc, gold and silver.
WARRENTINNA
The Warrentinna project is located in north-east Tasmania and covers an area of approximately 37 square kilometres. The project hosts several known gold occurrences, including Derby North and Golden Mara where we have intersected significant levels of gold mineralisation, some over 50g/t.
Warrentinna’s host rocks are equivalent to those found in the goldfields in Victoria, south-eastern Australia, which to date have produced over 50million oz of gold. The tenement encompasses two historic gold fields, Forester and Warrentinna.
