In British company Ascent Resources, they were among those who welcomed the news of the resignation of Minister of Environment Jure Lebn. But from today they no longer have a reason to be happy.

The Environmental Agency (Arso) has decided to conduct an environmental impact assessment for the planned ecologically disputable gas extraction in Pomurje, the so-called fracking.

It is a process that will undoubtedly delay or even cross the British plans for several years in order to acquire gas in Petišovci. As early as 2022, their concessions for gas extraction have expired. If by then the environmental impact assessment will not be completed, it will be lost.

garrym79 - from your experience how difficult, in this age of social media, is it to make sure that information, good or bad, does not get leaked out by the operating crews in advance of formal RNS? I guess some of the crew will be invested in this project so they might want to share their excitement if the news ids particularly good. Would there normally be confidentiality clauses in their contracts? Cheers L-A

what we have to avoid is being a market led by twitter. What next - the next 20 feet of drilling is tweeted as a no show and it's RNS'd. Only for the next day's tweet to say we drilled another 20 feet and it's a gusher. So on and so forth. Disorderly markets should be avoided.

moneyhawk - then maybe both shares should have been suspended temporarily for up to 2 days "pending an announcement"?

To some extent you can see their point. RMP fell 60% on Friday and are still below Thursday's close now. They have a lot riding on it - someone said " one trick pony " . Had Friday's update not been given they believe they would be a lot higher now.

Do we assume DW wrote today's RNS or a joint effort? The RNS statements from 88e, RMP and PANR are more or less the same - certainly the important body of information is identical - except PANR and RMP RNS start "....pleased to report.." and "....pleased to provide an update..." whereas ours just starts "...advises the following...".
