As well as fuel and cost savings, Volvo collaborating with us for its marine engines thanks to scalability. The unit can be modified based on the heat source or the environment to produce a higher rate of power. They’re currently working on mid-range yachts but our solution can be modified to fit any size vessel and specification. The D13 engine we are working on is similar to the engines used by trucks in Volvo’s automotive division. Therefore there is a strong possibility we will apply this technology to the truck division after success in the marine sector.

In a commercial refrigeration unit, up to 28% of fuel is used to generate the electricity required to keep it operating, so the potential to cut the cost of fuel is significant with WHR technology. The engine doesn’t work any harder because the heat it emits is turned into the electrical power source that can then power the electrical generators to cool the products in the refrigeration unit.

A Spanish waste plant currently has a system to collect waste heat from its three engines but it is only around 28% efficient and therefore not cost-effective enough to generate extra electricity. Our technology is 92% efficient, allowing the company to maximise effectiveness of the whole system and start regaining costs.

initiatives such as the FDA’s Project Optimus were prominently discussed at the two-day conference.

Previously, developmental paradigm for cytotoxic agents correlated higher doses with increased probability of tumor burden reduction. However, more is not necessarily better, said Jim Eamma, Executive Director, Therapeutic Strategy Lead, Oncology & Hematology at Worldwide Clinical Trials. This project essentially flips the traditional developmental paradigm on its head, he added.

Project Optimus was launched in 2021 with the intent to reform dose optimisation and dose selection for oncology candidates. The impact of the initiative will be demonstrated in the [reduced] time it takes to increase dose escalation levels, employ backfill cohorts, and ultimately take a product to market, Eamma explained. 

 Company re-engaged with DoseMe’s new management, culminating in today’s announcement of the plan to launch the Company’s dosing software on the recently upgraded and expanded DoseMeRx platform and to make it available, initially on a research basis, to selected US clients.  It is expected that the software will be made available in the second half of 2024.  The two companies have also agreed to identify one or more centres in the US, currently served by DoseMe, that have historical patient data that could be used to further develop Physiomics’ dosing software 

Joint venture potential

Both the ongoing PREDICT-ONC study and potential secondary research with DoseMe clients in the US will support this objective.  In parallel, the Company is seeking ways to make the blood sampling required by its software more convenient for patients.  This can potentially be achieved by using the software in other settings where frequent blood sampling already occurs, but also through exploration of the use of new diagnostic devices that can obtain and analyse blood samples in community or home settings (such at that being developed by our partner company Beyond Blood Diagnostics).

 

As the Company continues to develop its personalised dosing software, it will actively consider the most appropriate way to ring fence resources for this part of its business.  Options under consideration include creation of a dedicated business unit, creation of a wholly owned subsidiary or a joint venture with a party with complementary technology/ capabilities.  As further progress is made towards one of these, further updates will be provided accordingly.
