"In the meantime I have decided that I will not be averaging down because that strategy rarely works. I will hold here until 2028-2030 in the vein hope that this will be worth significantly more than it is today. I hope I am right."
This text a day before the ADVFN post stating you are out davey seems odd. One day holding to 2028-2030 then next day out? Odd, but wish you well if that is the case. Now Takeda is in the picture I personally think a bit more patience is needed, although I can definitely sympathize with the frustration! Others seem to be buying from time-to-time: https://www.marketbeat.com/instant-alerts/nasdaq-hcm-sec-filing-2023-06-06/
went and checked after your post elland and copy malcy's comments for the record here:
"it’s not often that i write that companies have a raise for all the right reasons but today it is close to that for zephyr. the £3.15m has been raised for extra capex needed to complete and test the state 36-2 well at the paradox basin, normally this wouldn’t have been needed but well documented well control issues have led to increased costs despite the fact that insurance will, albeit en ******, pay up.
secondly, the invested capital in slawson, despite the programme going very well, has been updated and the expected schedule for related surface facilities build-out is slightly behind targets. accordingly, the company now expects to see first production from the wells in question in october 2023 and first cashflows in january 2024 (versus earlier forecasts of march 2023 and august 2023, respectively).
this has created a sort of cash flow swing which means a top-up was needed and given the modest nature it was deemed most important to ask the company’s leading shareholders for advice and accordingly they felt that this raise, at a modest 5% dilution was the preferred route for the company and all shareholders.
what is most important is that the size of the paradox is still believed to be very substantial, note the pressures and hydrocarbon volumes witnessed during the four-day well control incident and more importantly, the fact that the company may require a larger gas processing facility than initially envisaged.
the shares have fallen modestly this morning, i believe because investors who have followed this company in its recent history genuinely feel that the prize from the paradox is worth these measures and that with careful, methodical work at 36-2 being completed soon with little flowback and perforation ahead of testing.
i have no hesitation whatsoever in thinking that zephyr has a very high quality management running a really fantastic portfolio which has a world class asset at the paradox and this is no time to leave the ship, indeed from here i suspect most money will be made…"

Too embarrassed to admit the exact figure ThinIce, but higher than 30p and lower than 40p. If I subtract my POLB holding value at current levels then nearer the 30p figure. I bought in at the wrong time when CF was in full hipe mode, but it is my fault. Nobody else is to blame and I am holding for the newsflow to come and also for what I hope will be a success with POLB. The recent dividend also helped claw back a very small proportion of my funds. I can wait, but opportunity cost elswewhere has been the worst point really. Such is life.
HCM are taking part in this in about 35 minutes time I believe: https://onlinexperiences.com/scripts/Server.nxp Not sure this link will take you directly there?
MSLH appear to be a company that face blips along the way that just look bigger than many other companies face. I am a long term holder (> 5 years) and was up several 100% at the highs. Now the price is back to just above my initial entry point. The dividends have been great, but the capital appreciation has completely (almost!) disappeared now. The good times will no doubt come again ONE DAY.
TIME to put together any deal so as stated "patience" is required here. I have been thinking about selling my POLB and moving to something more likely to go up in the short term (CARD, YU., ??) and then coming back to POLB, but with my luck something will happen here when I sell up and I will miss out. Since my holding is all a result of the HVO spin-off I am just trying to wait patiently instead. One day some big news, I hope, will drop Rodney!
"...its endless"
Fits well with the weakness in the share price here! Will we ever see a rebound. There were such high hopes when the "13" event took place on the HK Stock Exchange. The price around that time was much higher. HCM had a much more charismatic CEO (CH) and the future was bright. The future is still bright...... but the wind has disappeared from the sails.
One off special dividend though Richywar! Like you think this will likely end up negative today and now need to see more of those contracts land. Seems like a kitchen sink job and start afresh! Wonder what CF "is/will be" doing now?
"Touchstone shares are still amongst the most attractive in the sector, with the excitement at Cascadura yet to come I am supremely confident that TXP should be amongst the best in the market.”
Let's hope Malcy is correct with this text!
There look to be at least a couple of oilmen here: https://www.zephyrplc.com/about/board-management/
Having more would not hurt I suppose!
Not to forget the CH and other BOD members have quite a bit of "skin in the game" so a poor performance also impacts them. Let's hope the mood music is more positive here post presentation.
Adon30 - Thanks for the TP comment. Quite right!
Missed this report from the other day: https://www.sltrib.com/news/environment/2023/04/12/gas-well-ruptures-grand-county/
Seems that gasses were released, no mention of anything else, (why black area around drill site?) and the event, even though in a remote area impacted an event that was scheduled.
HUTCHMED Highlights Presentations at American Association for Cancer Research Annual Meeting 2023
Hong Kong, Shanghai & Florham Park, NJ — Wednesday, April 12, 2023: HUTCHMED (China) Limited (“HUTCHMED”) (Nasdaq/AIM: HCM; HKEX:13) today announces that new and updated clinical and non-clinical data related to five HUTCHMED investigational drug candidates will be presented during the American Association for Cancer Research Annual Meeting 2023 (AACR 2023), which will take place from April 14 to 19, 2023 in Orlando, Florida.
Many people tried a similar thing for end of Q1 over on discord iamrich and the majority (including myself) got it wrong! Most were over bullish as shareholders tend to be, so probably best to just wait and see. Nobody can predict the price and if they could they would be wealthy!
23.35 HK$ at close (up 4.5%) which is equivalent to 245p in UK so I suppose the drop in the UK is correct so far. Let's hope the US has more faith in HCM. You would think with "ORPATHYS® (savolitinib) being included in NRDL 9 effective March 1, 2023" there would be more interest in HCM.
I, as a co-shareholder, sincerely wish you all the best with your investment oilworker1. Seems rather risky investing money you will need for "other projects" but as I said I hope it all works out for you. Nice to know that you have faith and are in the industry. I have nothing to do with the industry and have good vibes about ZPHR, but I could be completely wrong. So helps when someone in the industry also has similar vibes.
Good to see that HVO were mentioned by Paul Scott in his podcast yesterday. May help the shares a little today. Https://shows.acast.com/paulscottsmallcaps/episodes/small-caps-podcast-with-paul-scott-episode-6-for-2023
