GreenRoc Accelerates their World Class Project to Production as Early as 2028. Watch the full video here.
Apologies, Wyn, but your posts are difficult to read without getting that impression! Maybe it’s just me...
I think it’s too early to say how long we’ll need to test (on a global scale). Way too early to say. Your 12-18months is speculation.
The flu isn’t Covid. Anyone who has watched the news over the last year will be able to recite “this is a novel coronavirus”. Many won’t even realise they’ve had it. Many will become severely ill with unknown long term effects. Escape mutations are likely, especially as we start easing lockdown. Recall the early words of the WHO about ‘shining a light’ on the problem (or words to that effect) so we know what we’re dealing with. This will be vital as we start returning to normality.
So we either stay locked down until the world is vaccinated against current known variants, or test while doing our best to ease lockdown measures (in conjunction with vaccines, of course).
We may get ahead of the game in the western world but global vaccine inequality will see this bouncing around and mutating for years to come. One escape mutation and, boom, we’re all ****ed again and into lockdown. Unless we keep testing. Jesus. I sound like a stuck record.
Wyn. Can’t decide whether you’re a quivering wreck seeking validation that this is a stock worthwhile investing in, or a lonely heart attention-seeker.
You think testing will be short lived. 12-15 months ago this was just a bad flu affecting China that we’d get on top of by washing our hands while singing Happy Birthday...
We may well vaccinate the majority of our population against known variants (saving lives in the process). What do you think will happen when we start opening the economy up again after lockdown? Back to mass infections and worrying / escape mutations. We’re going to be playing whack-a-mole for the foreseeable and if we want any semblance of normality to prevail, mass testing is key (to keep the economy open).
If that doesn’t make sense to anyone they’ve either got their head in the sand or have another agenda...
Perhaps. Perhaps not. What did we know already? Avacta are working with the government and multiple manufacturers to scale up production of a potentially best-in-class LFT....
Devil’s advocate will argue there is very little new info in the HP’s article. Unless we make it ‘official’ in an RNS. Which would be nice.
Perhaps. But we knew these manufacturers are ramping up. And the article doesn’t say 2,000,000 Avacta tests a day, although that would be fair implication.
I’m going against my own attitude to speculation and conjecture here so I’ll just shrug my shoulder and reach for another can of the black stuff...
It’s positive PR which directly names us in the government’s Moonshot Plan. I’d suggest that’s going to send the price upwards.
I don’t think we’ll get an RNS as this is something the market was aware of already. All will be revealed.
Seeing as the Huff Post and other articles don’t really add much meat to the bones of what we already knew, will we even see a Monday morning RNS?
Other than words to the effect of “clinical evaluations are still ongoing following excellent initial results” - which we already know, is there much else to add here?
The biggest take away from it all is that we are named in conjunction with the govt’s plan. But WE all knew that was the case. I still wouldn’t be surprised to see no RNS and an uptick on the SP based on this very good PR. All will be revealed in due course...
That wasn’t intended to be a deramp - just a reality check on any kind of product development. The bottom line is official confirmation that we have more than one test in development and only one of them had to be fettled last month!
Well this is the first real insight we’ve had as to what’s going on behind the scenes wrt our test(s).
To think that any product can be brought to market in line with such stringent requirements without having to be fettled is naive. Chances are most, if not all of the products coming out of Wetherby will have not met the exact requirement without some sort of intervention. The reasons for which are pure speculation.
Nobody goes around an 18 holer in 18 shots. Unless you are our Dear Leader, Kim Jong Il!
The timing doesn’t for the last update either, what with it mentioning ‘last month’... Good to know they’re still working on it - hopefully more good news in the pipeline following the latest clinical results of ‘the’ test
How many versions have we got going through Porton Down?
‘One version’ of the test... indeed the question is how many have we got? Saliva would seem to be the obvious candidate as we already knew about the difficulties involved
