Or allowing them to be de-risked enough to secure financing by other means
2 sides to everything...
Well said Fred...
I'm once again going to have to agree with IBAB.
The fact that you invested £44000, is an irrelevance now. The decision can only be made on today's information. Would you invest £11000 - if you think this will increase 10% then keep it, £12,100 is better than £11,000, regardless of the £44,000 starting point.
My (limited) understanding of the best investors is that they don't consider emotion, just look at the cold, hard facts. We should all try to do that, regardless of how challenging that is.
I didn't remove it, and I'm certainly not denying you any rights, you're entitled to make the comment, but I'm surely allowed to reply?
My perception was that the tone of your joke was different to the tone of my postings regarding Yorkshire. I can only apologise if I misread the tone.
Regardless, this is off topic. It was not a personal attack on you WT, just my opinions on your joke.
Hope you have a good day.
If you can't see that, then fair enough.
The post being removed is perhaps more compelling evidence.
Horrible joke WanderingTsar...
as IBAB, this is somewhat redundant.
also £160k a day sounds great, but when you need £500m that's a lot of days. 3000 or so...
I have to agree with Chilting here - perhaps not on the dividend front, but the sentiment in general.
The market valued this share at 27p in April, it's not crazy to think that it would be a similar figure if/when a funding solution is announced. However, that may well come with a dilution, or not happen at all.
Welcome back to the mad house.
IBAB - that would have been great advice before the massive drop. A little disingenuous now - would be a bit like saying "don't invest in Tullow"
Mr D is asking how to cope with the current situation, not how it could have been avoided...
Mr D.
I'd start by filtering out the trolls.
Then remember why you invested in the first place. And if this is applicable, remember that you are an investor not trader. Might even be worth logging off and not looking for a few weeks. Tullow will be volatile for a while whilst the traders do their thing.
All the best
I preferred the drunk broker reasoning.
A much less fun, but infinitely more accurate and informative explanation - thanks PAAA/Jeremy ;)
Hi all,
I lost someone important to me due to the stresses of finances.
Just remember there's nothing to be ashamed about today. Nobody in your life is going to be as upset as you think they're going to be. Talking helps. If you'd prefer to speak with a stranger Samaritans is a brilliant organisation.
Keep well everyone.

Probably a typo...some broker having a couple too many shandies at lunch.
