Why would Sam buy at 'upper end valuation' as you put it if that was the peak of the SP? It makes zero sense. Asset sales would have given a rise to a 50p SP, so as I say at 28p, it's a no brainer from here.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if Sam was an active buyer in an asset.

You're right Tornadotony - balance is good. But it is currently priced to go bust. At 50p some developments such as an asset sale, new CEO or re-financing would have raised the price. So at 28p it's a no brainer.

Please bring OPEC deal followed by an asset sale followed by CEO announcement followed by another asset sale.

The short squeeze from this one will be big.

This won't raise the SP until an RNS hits - but this could bring that RNS closer.

There comes a point where an RNS is imminent - particularly if Total say something.

Just imagine this - new CEO + OPEC agreement + an asset sale of two. 60-70 entirely possible in 3 months.

Even a 4.3 million bpd will boost brent and therefore oil stocks. Agree it will show unity and therefore confidence in further cuts. This will mark the beginning of the end of the oil war.

Agreed - we will see tactics and volatility leading up to Thursday. But I think all stakeholders know they and the world needs some stability and an oil deal will help. This has been the perfect storm of an oil crash plus a global pandemic. I'm getting sick of reading the word 'unprecedented' but it truly is and therefore this makes the current price a once in a decade buying opportunity.

The SP was higher on greater financial uncertainty for the business. Friday's RNS clears much of that up. The real winners are the ones that will hold leading up to Thurs and beyond.

They are themuir01 - it's well known. Follow them and you will see a pattern. If I had more time, I would have looked closer and seen if I could link them to a specific shorter.
