Considering that Sareum is essentially comprised of two scientists, a Jack Russell and a squeaky chair in a shed in Cambridge, the fact that they have had the tenacity to persevere for 15 years or so to get to this point is astonishing and testament to their hard work and endurance. Absolutely hats off to Tim and John for the technical stuff and Stephen for providing the guidance for getting Sareum where it is today, a clinical stage company with 2 potentially best in class assets and 1 asset weeks away from a probable license deal. Next RNS likely to be confirmation of first dosing during week of 5th June, further HNWI investment, next steps for SRA737 and/or the unforeseeable. At this pivotal moment one can only hope that all opportunities to raise Sareum's profile are energetically pursued.

The inside look at Prometheus’ deal shows no lack of options for sellers with desirable assets, as Prometheus even shut down earlier partnership talks in December 2022 after it announced Phase II study successes and raised $500 million in a secondary offering. Before that, dealmakers at Goldman Sachs had reached out to 17 partners on behalf of Prometheus, with 16 of those contacted companies expressing interest in exploring a partnership.

Conclusions
SRA737 was well tolerated at doses that achieved preclinically relevant drug concentrations but single agent activity did not warrant further development as monotherapy. Given its mechanism of action resulting in abrogating DNA damage repair, further clinical development of SRA737 should be as combination therapy.

HBD - nice find and very helpful to have some clarity and detail on the way forward.
This has to be the most significant event since the licensing of SRA737 to Pronai. It’ll be interesting to see whether full advantage is taken of the outstanding opportunity to fly the flag.

RMM - very many thanks for sharing your thoughts which, as always, provide a balanced and very helpful perspective. Imponderables such as the entry of institution/s and the fact that Sareum has been a such an incredibly tightly coiled spring for so so long may result in some significant near term spike/s when the RNS's start to drop.
FWIW I would think that there can be no doubt whatsoever that Tim et al are doing everything within their power to expedite the HREC/TGA approval and as Tim has indicated, the trial sites are already primed and ready to roll so there should minimal delay between approval and first dosing.
Perhaps the main frustration is the time it is taking to progress SRA737, given that the GSK/Sierra deal was reportedly done and dusted in a little over 2 months.
Time to walk the dog and think of something other than Sareum!

Against a backdrop of £4.50 when the HNWI’s came onboard which in effect had no relation to the actual value of the targets, PH’s £3, and given the imminent commencement of trials, do you think £2-3 on trial approval, £3-5 on first dosing and £5-10 on licensing of SRA737 are overly optimistic?

Prometheus recently reported separate positive study results in mid-stage testing of its drug for ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease and said it would advance the treatment into late-stage trials.
