The Prime minister has to be a realist and that means doing whats right for the people of this country. What he did yesterday was the right thing to do even if that means changing plans. If Plans dont work out or you can see them not working you have to change them quickly, thats what he's done.

I also see him changing the EPL soon as we are going to need investment in all energy sectors including fossil fuels. The Prime minister must not put the country over any policy including green targets. That's his job !

If Labour don't accept the fact that we are going to need fossil fuels for the foreseeable future and don't accept the need to invest in them they will lose the next GE over it. Bit silly when they could win it with ease by just doing the right thing.

The valuation of stocks that don't return shareholders a return has plummeted since the interest rates have gone up.

I think that's part of our problem as to why we are sitting at yearly lows. Once we announce returns providing there are higher than current interest rates we rerate hopefully.

The windfall Tax isn't suggesting we shareholders are not entitled to a return just not a massive one.

So I don't see anything that the market would consider negative with buybacks. In fact I believe the market will see that as a big positive, that's why we are all here isn't it
