Morning Stevo I know I lost the bet and if you won that bet on that ruling being correct then EnQuest directly lied to me as I asked that question before taking on the bet.

I can’t believe we would have been lied to so I have to accept I lost that bet that EnQuest couldn’t agree terms on any deals before year end and not that we couldn’t have been in a closed period due to a non executive director purchase

The whole sector needs to get behind her on this and pile enough pressure on this government until they drop it

So basically Stevo is trying to say EnQuest is a terrible investment and everyone should sell as soon as possible because there is absolutely no reason to invest in the company.

And all his research, time and effort taken is out the goodness of his heart.

The biggest issue holding the SP down is the small shareholder returns, currently just 6% so there are much better investments in the same sector paying higher returns

But if the company could afford to pay $30m we effectively could lift the SP towards 18p and still offer competitive returns in the sector

I wonder if they were given reassurance that the windfall tax will be dropped next year otherwise why would you risk it ?

Stevo if you are correct can you explain why Cobas, Schroder and Aberforth have all increasing their holdings significantly and most likely still adding ?

The farmers have won part of their war against the government today, the unrelenting fightback has been far better that the North Sea industry has done so it’s time to step it up and do the same

I see the US production beginning to drop off and will the lack of investment around the world start to rear its ugly head during 2026 ? All the talk of surplus supply and floating storage isn’t matching what’s being reported so how much actual supply reserve is there or is everyone pumping flat out ?

The bit where they were talking about adding in decommissioning expertise and wanting one more M&A made it sound like talks between EnQuest and Serica are back on.

It’s not quite over but looks almost certain that I have lost our bet and I will pay the £100 to the charity of your choice in the new year.

I’ve given up hope of EnQuest following through with a transformational deal now and agreed with the net debt missing from the update I also suspect it’s risen a fair bit.

From the comments from Serica’s investor presentation on Tuesday it sounded like they planted the seed that the deal between them and us is still a possibility

So what If the Jobs being lost are not just the guys working on the platforms etc, the people cooking the breakfasts, delivering the sector with supplies, taxi's to and from hotels, the Hotel staff and the list goes on, so they are working for the sector and the sector couldn't operate without them. Doesn't matter what job they do they are all involved and they are all losing their jobs because of this bastard Government
