Rookie Attempting to overwhelm the buybacks with borrowed stock is pure madness and no investor would even try that. Bit like betting on red and doubling your bet each time to cover the loss, in the end you run out of money or you hit the bet maximum ( No stock left to borrow ) Then your in deep sh it.
Buy backs do work but a mixture of both would be our best combination to return shareholder value

I think the market has the perfect opportunity to short Brent into the low 60's again. Will Opec call a urgent meeting or will they let the market run its course.

Oil prices are under a Short attack currently, Biden wanted lower oil prices and he's now got it, But how low will they go before bottoming out, I'm afraid we are now dead in the water until we have some sort of change. Massive FCF means frack all now. Its going to be another gruelling 6 months.

Opec control the oil market all the US can do is put up a battle but their ammo is running out . The US cannot keep on selling oil from their reserves to drive down prices. I don't believe demand has dropped 3% and I also don't believe current supply is 101.5 mbpd.

Brent at $80 for next year is just fine for us, Dividends and share buy backs will bring us the shareholder value we have been waiting so long for.

This year was extremely important for us in taking a massive chunk out of our net debt liabilities and we are only 3 weeks away from getting it over the line.
We have gone from a company with high risk to a stable company with manageable debt even with low oil prices.
We needed it.

A week in the oil market is a long time, the volatility is just too high to use weekly charts,
I stick to my guns and say oil prices are stuck in a downward trend that started on the 13th June.

Not sure what charts you're looking at but Im looking at the daily chart and Brent is certainly not in a upward trend, we are close to yearly low. Enquest's SP follows the Spot price of brent so you can't use longer range charts.

Brent still can't break this downward trend, (Started 13June) Todays gains disappeared quickly this afternoon, falling over 3%.

I want to know how toxic these gasses are and what they do to the environment and the air we breathe when burning and I'd like to know how "Just stop oil " will defend this.

Just reading an article about lithium fires and how they deal with them and the amount of toxic gases the batteries let off as they burn, bit shocked to be honest, horrific is an understatement. 1kw battery let’s off about 6000lts of toxic gas.
Then I thought how do you deal with a EV car that catches fire in an underground car park surrounded by lots of other EV. And what if there was 200 EV parked underground a tower block and one goes up taking the rest out, that’s probably enough heat to bring the tower block down.
Once these lithium batteries catch fire there’s no way to put them out.
