NEW 30 October 2020** FACTS research pilot
The University is now taking part in a new pilot scheme to assess the use of Lateral Flow Tests (LFTs), a new COVID-19 test designed to identify asymptomatic individuals with the virus.

FACTS is a research project developed by the University in partnership with the Department of Health and Social Care, Public Health England and Durham University.

Currently students in two colleges are able to trial the tests on a voluntary basis. Students who receive positive tests in the pilot will require a confirmatory test through the University’s Testing for COVID-19: Early Alert Service (or via the NHS if this is not possible).

Is it likely to be the Mologic test?

Uni of Oxford has direct links with the uk RTC.. it’s looking promising!

Let’s not forget surescreen who are part of the RTC agreement currently have a 15min Antigen being produced too.. could it be possible there looking at that?

In addition the rising rates of infection in the UK and predicted growth in cases over the coming months, has created an urgent need for these new test kits to support the testing programme in the UK and therefore Air Freight presents the only viable mode for moving product to the UK in time to meet the operational requirements of the testing programme. In light of these factors the contract was awarded to Air Charter Service Ltd to meet the specific urgent need to transport test kits to the UK, utilising flights from Xiamen, China to London during October 2020.

Isn’t the whole point of having symptoms to get the test? But they don’t want people with the symptoms tested there? Isn’t that pointless...

Anybody aware which antigen test being trialed in the schools?

RTC tests will be sold to more than just the government according to Colin.. Colin also said the MHRA could go through or further information required either way market will be updated...

Will be intresting to see when the Elisa lab tests start..? Wonder if they can do it for a chain like boots/Superdrug ect?

Yes my question during the presentation was regarding PR as I’m sure many more would of asked.. didn’t get answered but possibly looked at.. nyct 15% up today after there downfall yesterday.. hope for a good finish for us.

Remember surescreen also have the 15min test coming out... trying to produce 1mill+ a week.

RTC was likely 0.75p per test but higher for Non gov purchase.. hiv test was 70% profit... don’t think anything was said about profit on visitech test.
