Return to office has been encouraged since July 19th but the same press you mention only this morning have reported that businesses are ignoring the govts impotent request to return.

I just can't see how business travel will ever return to pre pandemic levels given the headwinds.

Alas - what evidence do you have that suggests otherwise?

I'm not fear mongering but the pandemic has accelerated a shift towards remote working.

Our clients for the company I work for are no longer willing to pay for us to travel when the work can be executed remotely

Of course this is just my own experience.

Add to that the ever increasing pressure on businesses to reduce their environmental impact and you can see it doesn't bode well for business travel.

I'm taking a long term view. Nursing a small paper loss but I don't intend on reducing my position any time soon.

I firmly believe that:

Western govts will continue to print until they are skint and debase the currency.

Any central bank not in the US, UK or Canada will continue to increase gold holdings.

Inflation will persist and even with policy tightening, real interest rates will remain strongly negative

Why does no one acknowledge the complete cratering of business travel demand on this board

That is never coming back no matter the course of the pandemic

Patience will be rewarded i believe.

Miners are undervalued at this moment and I will be using the next 12-24mths accumulating those firms and what they produce.

They need to improve the output if people are going to make the trip to the cinema

PM and miner investors need the patience of saints

Its really quite appalling that companies like EZY are still getting a bid

Pms and miners should now be bought and tucked away

I can't express my disappointment with this share

in my view this should be a hedge against travel stocks like easyjet

no foreign travel = more staycations

I've been staying over weekends at Prems and some of them have been fully booked so it's clear the leisure aspect is returning

Mon - Thurs rates escape me however

Any recovery for this company is likely to be very, very slow. I've got nothing against this share but at some point everyone has to accept the reality that the world is a mess right now and travel has been hit particularly hard.

Tough spot for shareholders. Do they accept the dilution of a rights issue or a debt issuance.

Thats the difficult part to quantify fat profits

At least PI gets plenty of tradesmen staying over which cant be said for other hotel brands. If we can agree that there'll be less of those desk types travelling, perhaps the loss won't be felt so bad given PI has a diverse segment appeal.

No, i don;t think the business segment will recover. I think we've witnessed a paradigm shift in how we do business.

Although a chunk of the revenue is business travel just like airlines, unlike the latter, this loss with be tempered by an uptake in domestic holidaying.

They continue to add rooms and market presence and anecdotally I personally have been staying at fully booked Inns.

People will be tightening their belts in the next few years as despite the MSM reporting otherwise, the economy will be in the ****ter for a while. Keenly priced products like PI should do okay i think

Sp got ahead of itself and now reality sinks in

I still think its a good punt though at these levels and am looking to reinvest soon as I am due to travel in September and don't fancy paying for breakfast
