The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
As they seem entirely ignorant of VRFBs I thought I would send them an e-mail saying -
Very surprised that your article seems to ignore the absolutely safe systems known as Vanadium Redox Flow Batteries .
As distinct from Thermal runaway risk with Lithium -Ion batteries , as I understand matters , VRFBs cannot catch fire, being water based and indeed last for many more cycles than L-I batteries .
Why insure risky batteries when there is a better safer alternative?
Hopefully. As Michael Caine would say “I still time the bloody doors were blown off”!!
Thank you Paludina- I think I speak for all when isay your info is invaluable .
The SP must be affected long term.
KN
I get all sorts of rubbish through on my screen but sometimes something which might be of interest. I gather that US Congress has passed a law banning importation of lithium from China as a result of which supplies of lithium will have to be sourced from home grown manufacture/mining.
I suspect that will cause a hike in its price, thereby rendering VRFBs more competitive still-so they will end up not only not bursting uncontrollably into flames , with a much longer life cycle anyway , but also less expensive initially than Tesla batteries. So perhaps the premium prices for V products already obtainable in the US will harden further. Just my guess but a happy thought.

Ruddy cheek, the Largo comment - a small unprofitable company in South Africa. hah!
Didn't I read somewhere that Largo only has about 8 years supply of ore left? As distinct from the 50+ years Bushveld has? Obviously ignorant to to call Bushveld unprofitable -should have read the figures in the last quarter's report in the RNS!!
Regarding market conditions -Bushveld's costs are largely in Rand , sinking against the Dollar, so the company is becoming more profitable daily. Not only that but the profit is in Dollars , so with the pound shrivelling , the company is getting more pounds -isn't it. So the lower the sp goes the more mad must the market be. Time to fill yer boots , I believe.
FM says the company is on track to hit good production targets and after his adoption of the mantra "under promise but over perform " ( mending the error of his earlier ways), the world should listen, but there are none do deaf as those who will not hear!!
Just my ramblings

Sadly it seems that disillusionment with the SP has driven useful postings away from this board .
It does however remain a valuable tool for dissemination of information to shareholders and prospective investors , so can I urge those with useful comment, as distinct from sniping at other posters, to continue to provide valuable comment here.
For myself I am always interested to hear from Loudspeaker as to shipments delivered to the US.
I also wonder when the years figures -and hopefully some better information from the BoD-will be forthcoming.
I have found useful comment here enlightening and hope posters will continue to give of themselves and share comment
KN
Alfa-Brilliant summation. Investors hold fast and will benefit. Our day is not far off. Description of FAR very concise.Ludicrous SP at present. I wishh i had more money to put in.
KN
Alfa -nice to hear from you again and congrts on your holding so many shares
Your faith in this company will I trust be proven correct and then we will all celebrate .
I for one am happy to be invested in something I believe will shortly berecognised by the wider world as essential and good for humanity.
KN
@Inv 81. Surely you misunderstand? Invinity is down the chain from Bushveld , is it not? They will be making the batteries with V bought from Bushveld , will they not? Or Have I got that wrong? If I am right then the RNS is good news for Bushveld as its customer will want more product.
Please feel free to correctme if I have it wrong.
KN
Are my maths correct that at $57.00 per kilo that equates to $14,250,000? Handy if so.
KN
What a cracking good sales pitch . Compliments l/s on posting it . If only our rulers would learn from it. Holding my breath but fear asphyxia!!

Don't like Putin, but he is doing BMN a favour. No gas to Germany who were stupid enough /misled enough to rely on power from gas from him who loved USSR!
Now less gas=less power. How to recover. The government is indebted to its Green party for its existence. What could be greener than Wind/solar plus vanadium batteries. Voltstorage are handily placed to profit from Putin's misdeeds and Gazprom's cutting of supply.
It applies all over Europe . When will their governments wake up? I can wait . The BMN mine will outlast Largo. The US will realise it is a crucial product . We are all righteous and the sun will shine on this share!
Just my Geopolitic view. KN
Pdub. Hallelujah re your health. Long may you improve . And I do believe BMN is at a SP low, from which , reading your analysis and that of BBN on twitter, it is poised to recover . I trust your recovery will enable you to enjoy BMN's inevitable rerate.
As ever thank you for pointing those with eyes to read in a sensible direction
KN
Why they bother to be a pain in the rear when we all know who they are and that their untruths are rubbish , I simply do not comprehend .
All I do say is a massive thanks to those of you who call them out , oppose them and destroy their lies-Alfa , Knuttie, P-dub , faramog and others too many to mention ( apologies for not doing so)
I am sad to say I have no time for their rubbish and I filter them so am doubly grateful to those of you who take up arms against a sea of troublers and I hope that by your opposing them you might end them.!
Whatever rubbish they spout this is a fine company at a ludicrously low SP at present . Bound to rise, despite the trolls!
KN
I see there are proposed alterations to the constitution of the company to make administration separate from its home in Guernsey.
Am I reading too much into these proposals or are they getting ready to list elsewhere- eg South Africa.
Frankly I do not care where they are listed on whatever stock exchange , but I view any move of this sort as a precursor to flotation off AIM , which I would welcome.
Am I reading too much into the proposals?
KN
AND I omitted to say even at 30p+ that is too low a price for a share with such spectacular prospects for true investors.
I will not be selling any any time soon
KN
I do not believe the BoD would be so immoral as to seek to buy back shares worth at least 30p, if not more , for the paltry temporary ludicrously low share price we now have .
Were they to think of a buy back I believe LTHs would be reluctant to sell at anything less than true value of each share -viz 30p +.
Only those who have to for financial reasons should be so mad as to sell at this give away price.
Just my view
KN
I see Zitty , mu old friend, has plunged in with 41000 more . Think I might do likewise.
Quick query though. People have been very kind and posted current V prices , but not seen any such info on here recently. What is the current V price?
KN
Hardly surprising if the market has forgotten /does not understand Bushveld, given the virtually useless degree of information provision by the company.
We who watch and know the company know it is a diamond waiting to be unearthed .
The total absence of any informative PR means those who don't know the company are not invited to be interested .
Its a great little company, but , as we in the north say, by gum, it needs to up its PR!
KN
Yesteday on line from , I think Telegraph news -might have been the Express, the article I copy below shows that FM was right recently when predicting a vast increase in demand for Vanadium -and remember Largo are the only other free world producer but only have 8 years supply left. The article went;
Energy crisis lifeline: 'Overlooked solution' to prevent blackouts ‘now a reality’
EXPERTS have highlighted industrial-scale power packs that can store excess energy are one crucial way institutions like the National Grid can prevent blackouts.
By ANTONY ASHKENAZ
Climate change, Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, and the global fossil fuel energy crisis has meant the UK has significantly stepped up its commitment to creating renewable energy generation projects. However, these projects will soon run into significant issues, as experts warn that the lack of critical infrastructure has meant that large amounts of energy is wasted in order to prevent the National Grid from overloading.
Because of the lack of sufficient interconnecting cables joining energy-rich remote regions of the UK and power-hungry city centres like London, the UK has to pay around a billion pounds a year asking energy projects like wind farms to shut off, Kona Energy, a British energy firm previously told Express.co.uk.
However, experts have now noted that industrial-scale powerpacks, which are a type of large electric battery, could be the key to helping countries deal with the impacts of the energy crisis.
Anjani Trivedi, a Bloomberg columnist highlighted the usefulness of powerpacks, particularly when facing “escalating bills and more frequent blackouts.”
In a column, she wrote: “There’s a simple solution: Store the energy and use it when the need arises.
“As the market for EV batteries expands and evolves, large industrial-scale powerpacks — energy storage systems, or ESS — are being overlooked as a potential solution to this power crunch.”
These powerpacks are large electricity storage systems that could store large amounts of excess energy from the grid or from other sources to use for a later time.
As renewable energy generation increases, experts have warned that building infrastructure to store this energy for times of high demand is critical.
Ms Trivedi added: “What’s underappreciated about these systems is that they benefit from all the EV battery developments like better energy density and safety, but don’t have the same problems or constraints.”
Exciting times in which we live!
