@Toffers of course Blackrock knew there would be no MRE otherwise why would you leave a massive short position open on the day a big upgrade was due?!
Nobody, even the most ardent supporters of SD and GGP should be happy with the current situation of uncertainty and poor communication.
The SP seems to be stabilising today and I hope it’s because Jupiter are still adding and sweeping up at low prices. They bought another 17m recently so they, like most of us, believe it will come good eventually, but not everyone will survive that wait and further potential dilution will minimise or even eliminate the profits we all expected a year or so ago
TT I admire your unwavering support for SD and this ‘magnificent’ well paid board, but I for one feel that they have no idea how to control the narrative. AIM shares require lots of updates and reassurances (rightly or wrongly) and delays of an MRE for a year (as per first statement of intent) only serve to provide negativity and opportunity for shorters and traders. Look at the likes of MARU and ONDO (the latter having risen 700% in recent months (promoted and invested in by our old friend Gervaise) where they constantly use Twitter/X and other platforms to keep everyone enthused. Marketing and investor relations with a find this big and world class should be so easy, yet all we ever release in recent months (other than the decline progress) are delays and risk of dilution - yes I know there have been some good drill results, but my point is that we are not actively promoting the company. Just my view and I know many will disagree.
To me the ‘we note’ that there is no MRE says he was caught out again and that should never happen in a well run JV. SD seems to have no control over HAV and that worries the hell out of me. Why are we always on the back foot. His own MRE should have been in his back pocket and to cross list without it means risk! Aussie shareholders and institutions will also want to know the MRE before they stump up their money - unless it is positioned as a big discounted placement. Risk for us everywhere!
What if the funds that were forced to sell in their rebalance due to their rules, bought them straight back almost like a bed and ISA trade? Price never shifted on massive volume so something like that must have happened
SaS I have just read your reply to Speadie and as a consequence I implore you to stop investing. If you don’t even understand that placings cause dilution and are undertaken in order to raise actual cash for a company, then you are a danger to yourself and others following your posts. Be safe!
Spades you only focus on what suits you. Placings raise money and without investors, Private or Institutional, then the company does not get the cash it needs. Likewise a low share price affects the ability to raise equity and/or debt and so again affects the company. Poor performance of management affects share price and people sell as a consequence. It is all interconnected and we PIs are an integral and even fundamental part of it - especially in companies without revenue!!! Grow up and see both sides of this argument. Sure we have great fundamentals, but at this rate there will be billions more shares in issue and nobody will get the return they expected. Those that think this will recover to the dizzy heights of 38p with this many shares in issue are going to be sadly disappointed - bar if you take a very long term view or there is another big discovery of course.
I truly hope we all do well, but it is also part of a shareholders duty to hold management to account. Even Wyloo are 20% down and I doubt they will accept much more of this before they force action. SD is far from safe in his position and every day that passes without him investing in his ‘own company’ shows how weak a man he really is.
Grouch if you are happy to ignore the massive drop from his announcement as MD ie not well received, then fell free. Moreover if you feel SD is doing a great job from 25p to 6.5p ie a 75% fall, then you are in a very different world to most investors who normally seek gains
you make it sound as if the rebalance is almost irrelevant. their algorithms require them to buy or sell based on the underlying performance of the equities. **** performance by ggp means sell and that has been a feature of etf investment for 2 years. remember they bought in at 27p so they have been hurt big time by this perpetual cycle of sp destruction
Itsouthere you make the point well that he had no real track record before joining us, and none as an MD. I said at the time (posting history proves) that GH was ousted, possibly for buying shares at time when he shouldn’t have, to show faith. SD and his overpaid colleagues haven’t bought any, legally or otherwise (bar the tiny placing amount SD was obliged to do). If you listen to Antipa’s presentation of yesterday I seem to recall their board own about 5% of the company. Now that’s what we need from this mob to turn it around.
I would add that because of his mindset, I believe he will go for a big consolidation ie 10:1 to imply he has driven the SP up massively despite it being a technical movement. Sadly consolidation doesn’t guarantee the SP stability so there will still be games played after it happens
