I haven’t paid attention to the silver price. Up 79% in 6 months and 118% in a year. Never been a massive revenue generator but I always thought $23 was good for GFM. At $66 that’s around $17m additional revenue in a full year with not much cost except royalties and bonuses.

That is staggering in the context of quarterly profit to June of $14.5m.

I’ve sold a few shares but a floor seems to have been created.

Message to BOD. A divided needs to be paid which will rocket the share price if paid in 3 consecutive years.

The GFM Holy Grail of Zone II production is very close.

GFM share price is up 52% in a year.

The price of gold is up 59% in a year and virtually at record highs in $ terms

GFM is mining more gold as a proportion of mined ore

Zinc price at its highest this year. I previously thought anything over $2,720 was excellent but cost increases will have increased this in the last couple of years.

LME zinc stocks are very low on a historical comparison.

GFM has huge cash holdings

On the downside:~

Production is currently curtailed;

This further reduces profitability after the slow start to the Year.

And yet there are so few posts.

Will GFM’s SP continue it’s rise or is another set back around the corner?

Yep. It’s really odd. A big block to a bid cleared out. Tens of millions of $s in the bank. Decades of very highly profitable mining to come. And yet only 4 trades today.

GFM made good profits in the first half which finished with gold about $3,400. Today it is about $1,000 higher. c. 500 ounces mined a week is over $400,000 profit this week. 20% SP rise seems small.

And silver

GFM is such an odd share.

No comments on the interims, stopping quarterly production reports, no Balance Sheet, huge cash balance but no dividend and hardly any buy backs.

It’s odd. This happens every time. I don’t believe GFM has ever bought more than15% of the announced share buy backs.

Are we in a closed period? Interim results were out last year on 12th September. Well look at the c. $50m bank balance and wonder why it is sitting there and why a divi hasn’t been announced again.

Daily Share Price movements make no sense. Zinc price up strongly, SP down. Go figure

Tomorrow will be a better day.

However many times I add up production revenues and estimate profits and cash generation I never understand GFM’s share price movements.

I’m guessing:-

Share buy backs get into full swing from today.

The transition to increased PM sales will get noticed;

SP has a 182p floor now;

Still no dividend at the half year results;

When the SP rises above 200p again I have my finger poised on a small sale but don’t press the trigger and then regret it again later in the day.

FWIW (very, very little). I believe 350p - 380p is possible but then I was ecstatic the first time GFM went above 100p many, many, many years ago.

What a strange day. 203p to sell mid morning. 187.2p late in the day.

I’m guessing something is going on but no idea. And no idea if there is whether it’s good or bad.

I agree. Holding excess cash often encourages increased pay rises, lack of scrutiny in procurement or even worse searching for an acquisition. I’d much prefer regular dividends but happy with share buy backs.

Still no results? Please GFM - let’s get the no dividend excuse out. My disappointment at no disappointment each morning increases daily.

What will this week bring us? I’m expecting a steady week - ending a couple of pence higher.

I know I’m really greedy but I’ve also hoped to get 350p. As I hold 223,000 shares I’m very happy with the rise and not selling. My old next door neighbour put me into GFM at 27p. I often wonder what I should do as a thank you but never have.

FWIW (absolutely nothing) I bet the first PXC trade tomorrow will be 48p. The highest trade will be 57p. The closing price will be 43p. For context I’m a hung ho accountant who’s travelling 275 miles each way to watch Leeds beat Norwich 3-1 when I could stay home and watch it on tv.

As the company has enough cash to buy at least 12% of the current shares in issue they’ll have to find other ways to utilise the cash - or I suspect the PRC will do it for them.

Just read an article on China changing its stance on capitalism etc to be welcoming. If (a big if) true then GFM can have a significantly higher rating. More research and then pile into shares that make money in China.
