Avanti alive and well in Cornwall as this report shows. Doesn't sound like a company going under but then again neither did Flybe!
The search is on for the best of the best as the Cornwall Business Awards kicked off at an exclusive launch event supported by Avanti Communications.
Past winners and finalists joined this year’s sponsors and supporters to hear about all the new features for 2019.
Organising the Cornwall Business Awards for the second year, the Growth and Skills Hub team have been busy introducing new categories and re-writing all new questions. There is now an award for every business to apply for, from multi-national exporters to sole traders and traditional industries to high tech wizards.
The event was supported by Avanti Communications, which is based in Goonhilly and provides high-speed data communications via satellite across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. It also runs the EU-funded Superfast Satellite programme, which connects Cornish businesses who are not able to access the fibre network to superfast broadband through a satellite connection.
Project coordinator Andy Williams said: “There are still regions in Cornwall that can’t get fibre or mobile connectivity, but satellite is there and all they need is to be able to see the sky. It’s a great opportunity for rural businesses as better connectivity is a really good growth enabler.”

I use Halifax. It isn't free to trade (£12 each transaction) but there are no holding or ongoing fees and it seems pretty efficient to me anyway. Not a recommendation as the type of account will dpend on your trading activity.

There's the answer and gold was up today. It just can't keep above £9.00 when on an historical basis it should be a lot higher now.

I dont know what to belive in RNSs any more. I guess they cannot lie but do they tell the whole truth. I just got badly caught by Flybe (read their rnss) who seemingly turned down an offer of 40p per share last March and have now sold out for 1p. It floated at £2.95!
Not saying OXB is like that but I treat it all with a healthy dose of scepticism from now on. I am still holding. GLA

I doubt we will hear anything until mid March as the BOD is historically silent which is disappointing given the slow drift down that seems never ending. £4 off the recent high and well below the consolidation price and not a peep from them. I am holding and hopeful (after 15 years what else can I be?) GLA

Those are cash isas though; not share ones where it is impossible to do that

Ironic: I must be missing something here. Why will buying these shares get you any in the new company. There is no route ffor these shares to be transferrreed into the new one. Please explain.

Absolutely right. I assumed s/he realised you can't trade for nothing and there would be the costs you list but that may have been a false assumption. Cheers

and they seem to have no effect on this share which is probably more held back by the new economic policies and tax plans in Mexico as otherwise there is no reason why we fall again today though there appears to be a trend developing of rising first thing and then gradually falling back throughout the day regardless of what the wider market is doing. Still underwater here so shant be following FG just yet. GLA

Couldn't agree more.Completely frustrating. The final results are due on March 15 so I guess we wait as patiently as we can until then as the bod never seem to communicate anything except where it has to

DDM. The thing that makes me doubtful about IAG is that the LHR slots were taken from BA when it acquired BMI so would they just be handed back again and although they are tied to the NQY route they will be grandfathered in a few years so BA (IAG) would effectively get them back. No inside knowledge on my part; just a feeling the Trustee that governs their use might not regard that with a lot of favour.

Big: that is how I read it; that they will ake the application in Q1 but the actual date won't be known until the application is made and while my knowledge of this is shaky I belive there can be quite a lengthy period between application and delivery but wdik. Still seems positive though.

GR - you are very welcome. None of it changes where we are with this share and I have to admit I never thought we would be this low. No point in selling now so like everyone else I am in the waiting game, but have mentally written them off.

Not a genius but the explanation is the difference between percent (actual) and percentage change.
4.54 - 3.78 = 0.76 but 0.76 of 4.54 is a 16.7% percent change.

So right. Back down we go again. Why is this so volatile. Makes you almost want to be a day trader rather than an investor. Huge swings on virtually no volume. Might be time to check out on the next upswing as this is ridiculous. GLA and HNY

There isn't enough room in this reply box to answer that but it will surely either be put on a relatively secure footing or fold this year imho. Always optimistic at the start of a NY but this is still red or balck as nothing has changed expept a 9 for an 8 GKA and HNY

I am one of the ones who has bought in today to bring my average down to £1.24 based on the liklihood of a good update but I am as much in the dark as anyone so it is a pure gamble based on the thought that all bad news has been already priced in but wdik. GLA and HNY
