Base metals slumped on the London Metal Exchange (LME) on Wednesday, with aluminium and lead hitting their lowest in more than two years, as computer-driven funds sold after an options expiry.

So going by the above report the drop was computer generated so it won’t take long to rebound as the contracts will soon be renewed based on the second statement, that copper will be in deficit.
