Can anyone clarify or provide any information of dividends?
It is my understanding from what I have been told, that any Final dividends that have been declared by the board then it is then obligatory for the company to pay it...
Is anyone able to confirm this at all?
Good Evening Mr
Yes I'm still holding.
Today's rise has put me back into positive territory which is nice.
I always bought these to hold long term ,more of a pension pot. Dividends were being reinvested to increase my holdings. We shall how it goes really.
The Times have reported Royal Mail could post bumper profits. JP Morgan have stated estimated profits from 50 million previously to now estimating 179 million due to the 2nd lockdown.
Don't really hold a large holding, a few thousand in Barc and lloyds.
I was having my dividends re invested to increase my holding in Barclays but not anymore. I did consider this being a pension pot but with the way things are going, having second thoughts.
I also have a few hundred in RBS, RMG & TPK.
I think dividends will be resumed from next year, however at a minimal pay out just to please shareholders. I do not think we will see the dividends we have missed being paid.
6p final dividend for year end 2019, nor anything being paid for this year 2020.
What does everyone else think?
I feel NWG and LLoyds results will drag Barc down again, they are going to need very strong results from retail banking as they do not have the income stream from investment banking as with Barc. Investment banking was a saviour in the results Barc presented.
Bankers, lawyers, accountants and public relations advisers are in line for fees of more than £300m if GardaWorld succeeds in its hostile bid for G4S.
Six banks are due to share up to £180m for arranging financing for the £3bn bid. Of those, Barclays, UBS, Bank of America and Jefferies are due to split up to £100m more in advisory and broking fees.
Barclays' second-quarter results was the investment banking arm, which put in a strong performance, Investors will again hope for some good news from the division, which is expected to deliver profits of £634m.
Russ Mould, at AJ Bell, said analysts predict a provision of about £1billion. 'To accentuate the positive, that would at least be a big drop from the numbers in the first and second quarters,' he adds.
LONDON (Reuters) - The bosses of European banks Barclays
"Being able to distribute excess capital is very important if the broader economy is going to have confidence in its financial system," Barclays CEO Jes Staley told the Institute of International Finance online event.
Santander chairman Ana Botin added: "Going back to dividends is going to help the economy because it helps the flow of capital, it lowers the cost of equity, so I would like to put on that the table as something to be considered very seriously by global regulators."
Any thoughts if Barc will pay a final divi for the year?
