I must say that I sympathize with you on that. I'm the one who said something of this order was likely to happen but due the source I had discounted this as well. I even invested afterwards. I just wonder now how many of the marginal markets will drop into loss making for the other operators once casino style offerings are added to the Pokerstars stable. The purchase of Pokerstars at $4.9bn is going to be steal of the century in 5 years time. Best of luck

I do not think that I would be able to add anything to that advice offered by others. I am almost totally out of the sector now and I would think there are much better shares than this to start your investment journey with. The underlying business has performed poorly for a sustained period and the probable introduction of a best of breed competitor with an added casino component as well is actually a threat to the existence of this business.Others may disagree with me here but the enterprise value here is hugely compromised to such an extent that I'm not sure that a premium of any sort could be obtained even if this were taken over. This is just laden with risk now and is the recent drop overdone? I, for one, would not want to be holding here to find out that it is not. crookman's take on this is really well laid out in recent posts and he is a long term holder that is saying it as it is.If you feel that I'd added anything in my contributions that aided your understanding that's great. That is, after all, what the forum is supposed to provide. If you thought I was just a grumpy old so and so then I at least hope you had a chuckle or two. it has never been good. I used to look at it when I invested in 888 but the content was never in any way useful. While i always thought this board was far too optimistic in texture at least there were rational debates that allowed readers to form an opinion. What are your thoughts on the SP at BPTY over the next few weeks? In my mind it has to be volatile and this would present some real opportunities to trade it. i'm afraid though that i'd not participate in this is just way too risky.

Regrettably I still have some. I had invested in those at a very low level and did very well out of it however in an effort to avoid paying CGT I still hold some. I'm just so glad that I had sold the bulk of them (and paid the tax) in order to provide my youngest with a deposit for a new home. Selling them at £1.46 and £1.60 looks like genius now and had I not had the need to sell them I'd be really spewing right now. In light of the recent news, the tax that I may have to pay on the remaining gain may be the lesser of two evils. Big holdings in the online gaming sector is going to be an even riskier proposition for the foreseeable and quite frankly I'm not sure if I have the appetite for it. On the plus side, if there is one, the news may just be enough of a wake up call to force the BPTY board into some meaningful action. The problem is perhaps that it may already be too late.

My post was not intended to be a "2 fingers to the other posters". I, after all, experienced a similar % drop of the remainder of my 888 holding. The market has hardly been kind to me today either. I treat the ups and downs of the market with equal measure. Did I react in the same way as you when my Ladbrokes holding was dive bombing? No Notwithstanding this, if my post upset you then all you have is my word that this was not the purpose of my post. With regards to the "I'm so glad I avoided this" quote. This was because until only a matter of days ago I had been invested here despite my reservations about the company. In that respect I was just fortunate not to be holding right now and this was the reason for my comment and in no way intended to rub anyone's nose in it. crookman my post was hardly " I told you so" and even if it had been your response is somewhat petulant. The share is down 7% and that is in an of itself hardly the end of the world. There are those on this board who trumpet smaller rises with much more of a fanfare. The point I was making in the post that prospect of further developments here could easily damage the SP much more. When else would one comment on the effect of news other than when it was released. In future, am I supposed to leave it a week until your fragile feelings may not get hurt? Perhaps your ill judged and ill tempered response is something that you should reflect upon. My post did not warrant such a response as it was observational and as a poster who has visited this board for a while now I'm entitled to express my opinion. For you to contend it is in bad taste is just not merited and is quite frankly laughable. and actually I do genuinely hope that you were not holding too many. Best of luck

This was the kind of event that had always kept me out of this. I know that you had always thought me a doom monger but in reality my fears for this company have just been telegraphed to the stockholders. There is little prospect of anything positive that could reverse this and there must be real concern of further falls should matters progress. I'm so glad that I avoided this and for those of you that are kidding yourselves on that poker is only a small part of the pie. Do you really think the VC's will spend $4.9bn and not extract every cent of gaming revenue they can before selling it on. I has always said this would happen and the "cleansing" of Pokerstars was the biggest risk to the current business and any growth potential. Hope you were not holding too many

Would you care to elaborate on that and why you do not think so. Personally, unless there is something totally unforeseen, I cannot see where and how they could conceivably spend more than a couple of million and that at least £3m must ultimately find its way back to us.

Well someone just paid 11p for 100,000 shares and must reckon that it is essentially a risk free bet on the basis that they get the 11p back shortly with a potential upside of maybe 20% (who knows) on their investment in the not to distant future. Truth be told, I'm struggling to see why there is not more buying especially at below 11p.

Did you have a wee poke at this? I bought in at just a fraction under 113p under the impression that the AGM would have spawned newsflow to have boosted the SP to the mid 120's. In reality the somewhat mealy mouthed and benign RNS issued beforehand pretty much rendered this opportunity worthless. The activist investor has to a very large extent been put back in their box in terms of effecting any real change in the short term. The medium / long term impact is of course still possible. The RNS just reeked of accepting the status quo in the meantime. Without real change the stockholders will continue to suffer. I hope that you managed to make a few bob here and whilst I'm disappointed with only 5p of a gain, however no -one ever went bust taking a profit. Good luck

Thanks shylock You've pretty much called this right from the start. I'm disappointed in some ways that the business will grow and prosper without me being able to be involved. The eventual proceeds per share at around 11p ( and probably more) will though act as a very nice second prize. I'd just like to thank you for posting on this Board, answering my sometimes silly questions, adding detailed informed observations and providing all that fellow board users could expect. Afternoon shylock, Perhaps it is just me however the CEO's statement is less upbeat than that of Mr Grant's comment from the RNS you quoted from. "The Group's remaining business, Utiligroup, has performed well throughout the financial year ended 31 March 2014 and has continued to build a strong recurring revenue stream that provides a stable platform for further growth in the coming 12 months" I would just have thought that despite the whole host of other distractions that the Utiligroup business may have been able to secure further customers once the shackles of the previous management team had been removed. My initial research had indicated that Bglobal were woeful at marketing their own product and that the sales function was almost totally inept. I suppose I had just hoped that a new leadership could have turned this around quickly and that this would have delivered new customers by now Best Regards

Quite frankly it is hugely disappointing not to have been kept up to date by the Board. I'm not sure if the change of Registered Office being notified a few weeks after the event is heinous though and it seems pedantic to found upon that. I'd be more concerned that there is a potential banana skin in the numbers that is causing them to be mute. The results will at first glance be very poor. The book loss on the metering business and the sizeable fee to KPMG will see to that. The CEO's statement on Utilgroup was not hugely upbeat and I do not think we can expect the same levels of growth as previously enjoyed to have continued. Ultimately the whole proposition now rests upon how well that business is growing and everything else is just fluff. I'd just like to have seen a contract award or two in the meantime.
