Having sold several properties over the past 12 months (The Labour Tax Attack being anticipated), I can vouch for how the most trivial of problems can hold up a property sale.
There is zero chance that the lender will relish his sub 3% holding languishing at these levels, so you can bet that he is pushing for completion.
I’ve also had a private company wait for five weeks to get my subscription on the completion of a property sale. Luckily for me, they seemed to like me! Yeah, I have no reason why either.
The other facet of this, is that the completion could happen at any time. Maybe as soon as Friday. Solicitors seem to favour Fridays, for some reason.
As for the CFO leaving, that could happen for a number of reasons, some of them not disastrous!
Risk / reward seems attractive to me.
