I think btc may keep on up today. The US may be thinking about the waste of $2 trillion over two decades in Afghanistan. If I were in the US, I would be trying to think of a way to protect myself against continuing state incompetence.

I think the fact that they decided to burn (is that right?) some eth to control it’s value is way more evidence than the SEC needs to classify it as a security. I don’t know much about it, except that it’s big and efficient on power, but however useful it is GG will be after it, at some point, if it doesn’t file as a security. That may not be a hard thing to do, or a significant drawback, but I will be reined in, imho.

I think that’s where ETH will fall over. Someone started it and controls it. Jack somebody? I think Gensler puts that in the securities bag, unlike btc, which has no one in control.

I know there are eth holders here, but I’m not trying to cause an argument against eth.

The decentralised bit is important. But I think that operates at the coin level. If I decide to start selling my newly created PinguCoin and the public buys it, expecting get a return on their money because of how I manage it, then the SEC will come after me. I’m not sure what would be the status of any exchange selling my PinguCoin.

I’m no expert on what they do. Anything DeFi that’s built on Bitcoin and blockchain I would guess is pretty safe and the same for NFTs. Some of the other stuff they tweet about goes right over my head.

Gensler is right about Sxxxcoins being the Wild West. I have a tenant who makes a living out of crypto. His best return to date is $25k from a $300 stake, but he says there is a huge number of scams out there. “Project” seems synonymous with “ponzi” it seems, so you have to know who you can “trust”. He had one project that failed, from people he trusted and lost it all, but the owners of the failed project gave him free tokens in the subsequent project, which made him money.

He works with a few others as a team and they scour the DeFi world, deciding what to “invest” in.

I’m sure Pluto Digital is above board and competent. I think it will mostly operate b-to-b, but if it could get together with Luxor and build a better Binance, that would be stunning. . I have a holding and was offered a 50%+ premium for them a few months back. I’ll probably have more when it IPOs.

jabberba, I’ve been banging on about Gensler and the Howey test for a couple of weeks. Sxxxcoins will be destroyed. Any cash that investors can salvage from that will rush into btc. Gary loves btc.
