Would like to think this could have a huge boost to the turbine developments/construction at the Nigg site.
Must be an exciting RNS incoming. Is it one of those moments "wouldn't want to be out of this over the weekend"
Currently seems to be what looks like a small diving vessel at the MYGEN site "C Spartan".
To be a fish in the Ocean to know what's going on.
Northern Ocean’s Deepsea Bollsta semi-submersible drilling rig is on its way to Namibia where it will work for the oil major Shell.
What do people think "ATES" was worth and why?
What does it actually own and what revenue is it generating currently of great value?
Must say im happy that it was a 21% stake retained though as was expecting much less.
Preparation for phase 2.... who knows. Maybe we'll atleats get an RNS on this activity! Humour intended but serious at the same time.
I think the cfd funding is for a guarantee price for the sale of electric produced. Any other money recieved has been to help get the turbines in the water. Should not change the outlook from government. Hopefully we'll receive soon clarity on this aswell
Should not have any
"mister_tidal" I do see how you see it as giving away the other projects and have concern. But in my eyes raz blanchard is the only definite one, which is still only In its early stage at that. No turbines in the water. The japan mention to me is only confirmation of another demo turbine. I'm pretty sure japan will be capable to produce their own turbines in the near future with the technical abilities they possess. It seems they are gathering data to work out what suits and works in the area of concern before commitment to any scale up.
I'd rather be left generating income from a 400mw project potential which we have lease agreememt for, compared to a 50% stake in a new project at raz blachard that is 12mw which hasn't started yet as such.
Yes there's the turbine sales but we were only using them ourself. We now don't have to look for the money to invest and develop into them which would take up alot of ££££ and maybe it streamlines SAE a bit more into completing the projects we are a part of already.
Two companies now, two sperate applications for grants, cfds, investment.
Let's see what Monday brings. Hopefully clarity and stop us all guessing.
Who receives the money from the electric the turbines generate in the water on MYGEN site? Correct me if I'm wrong but that is SAE.
Read it again mister_tidaland everyone else. MYGEN is still in SAE hands!
deutscher I don't think SAE was in a position to proceed with the next MYGEN phase and commit too the other new projects. It would end up with disappointment on all fronts. Financing and dealing with demand/manufacture etc
Id hope its a case of rather than lose the projects to competition, start this other company to develop them although be of little financial gain to SAE
Be nice to see and RNS on the matter though. To clear certain subjects up. Does SAE receive a payment for releasing these projects? Who's turbines will they use.?
Remember the coal conversion idea is not dead. We are are hoping on progress next year on potential locations they say..
How knows, but I'll be here to wait it out.
Time to concentrate and develop MYGEN. Too many projects in the background. Should be positive short term.
Would love to know where our japan turbine has ended up out of the ocean and whether there is any interest or scheduled work for it to be used further in a demo/test site in the near future somewhere.
This company's potential is about to be fully seen. What an exciting ride we are in for.
We're all just waiting patiently i think! Something will get us excited soon I hope
Looks like someone's loading up.
R&D can be about improving the existing working item. We see it in day to day life. Put it in simple terms, look at the black and white tv to the 4k
tvs of today or whatever it's gone onto. The tv without a remote to the tv with wireless remote.
The mobile phone with a cable charger to the wireless charger dock station. See what this conversation brings this time next summer.
What's the big deal about turbine 4 not back in the water. Yes it would great to generate more income in the short term but the important point is it will be used as R & D on the wet mate connection, its becoming clearer to see. Prove this works well and effectively and incorporate it into the turbines for the next phase. Would be daft to install a 28mw array with old tech. We already have a very good unit but why not perfect it before moving onto big scale deployment.
