"and that situation is the fault of the Government and David Cameron."
100% agree on that, as politicians go... he is one of the most disingenuous politicians I have ever seen. Second only to Tony Blair. And Phoenixchi, I don't think it was a simple case of him doing something so massively wrong, I reckon he knew exactly what he was doing. He was so cocksure of himself after winning the Scottish Independence referendum, that he wrong assumed the same tactics of scare mongering would do the job for him with the EU referendum too.
But I reckon the Scots (I'm one, although live near Brighton) were always going to vote to remain anyway, Cameron had nothing to do with them voting remain.
But getting to the point, I think Cameron knew exactly what he was doing when he left the referendum as non binding. And I think Theresa May is a fool for leaving the invoking of Article 50 for so long too. Either that or she knew it would be challenged and kicked the can along the road for a while to ensure a soft brexit.
Because if these judges announce that they're upholding the high courts decision, then Labour has made it clear they are not going to support a hard Brexit. They want access to the single market among other things. Well I've made my opinion clear on that in relation to the free movement of Labour.
There's going to be a lot of very disappointed, very angry people that won't just put it behind them. There will either be protests and rioting the country has never seen before, or the right wing will fill a lot of seats in the commons at the next general election. Or a bit of both.
