The majority of traders at banks use technical analysis. A lot of these traders are paid no salary, only a commission on performance. I've got zero doubt TA works. If it didn't the banks would be losing money trading constantly. Cut the losers early, let the winners run.

haha if you're having a dig at technical analysis there's no point. All it does is measure price action to put probability in your favour, it's wrong a lot. But when it's right it keeps you in a trend that cancels out the small losses and makes a decent profit. It's just risk management. Ultimately anything can happen in the market.

Just trading what I see mate. I won't close the short until the 8 ema closes above the 34 EMA. There's a big gap up that hasn't been filled, and that crossover is negative, there's no guarantee of down, but the balance of probabilities says it will go down based on that. If it turns positive I'll exit the position with a couple of pips loss, no big deal. I'm up 107 pips on a USDCAD long and USDJPY short anyway

8 ema is already above the 34 ema but not closed, might be closing this short soon already... need to see how the hour closes.

I've got a guaranteed stop set, no big deal if it fly's. At a pure guess, I can't see the Congo ruling in Glencore's favour, that would mean the president going against a long time friend who has made him a lot of money. But haven't a clue what could be going on behind the scenes.

Is the gap to fill, if not filled this would be a Bullish Island reversal, which is very rare... so I expect it to be filled. It doesn't have to be filled soon, but they usually are not long after they form.
